Not annoyed that he's gone, more annoyed that we wasted what little transfer funds we had in the summer on someone who isn't up to the level, you can add Knibbs and Olafe to that list too. A truly awful summer window with fees paid.
Iirc many on here were creaming their under garments after the summer transfer window shut......giving it 8's & 9's out of 10.

NJ might have got us promoted last season but I wouldn't trust him with a transfer budget.  Perhaps the lack of money spent this month alludes to the fact the owners don't either.

Not sure why he hasn't had a look in past few months wheb we've desperately needed some attacking flair. Maybe he's crap in training, maybe he has fallen out with Jones or maybe he isn't as good as we think. Answer probably lies somewhere in middle hopefully he'll be back in the summer

But we got our business done early, thought that was the key? ;)

Tanto going too.  Maybe these exits are positive in that we're clearing the decks for some decent talent to come in.
Yeah right. With just 3 working days of the window remaining. Think again. I said it weeks ago.....the owners dont want to spend any more money. Certainly not on decent fees. Why do you think they are actively looking for new investors.

    Yet another false dawn.

This is free up wages to bring in several semi crocked defenders to play Jone’s new 6 - 3 - 1 formation

Phew, glad NJ’s in charge and not you!
  • Apter can justifiably claim he’s been treated like dogshit from jones. Some of the worst man management I’ve ever seen.

Well no, because you don’t know how Rapter behaves in training, what he was promised originally, what his personality is like or how honest jones has been with him.

I am shocked at this decision though as he looked really good to me when he played. I just can’t work it out - did they argue maybe? It’s all guessing of course and we’ll never know. I just can’t help thinking there must be more to it than football because we were crying out for him when bree couldn’t kick the ball off the floor and Rapter wasn’t even getting 5 mins when we were losing games.

  • Does Rodwell just copy and paste ?
His comments regarding Tanto and Apter
Are almost exactly the same !
If I were either player I would find this insulting .
"Welcome back in the summer" my foot !!!

I should add the 3 are all defenders, as is the 1, who can defend against corners and take free kicks

Pretty pissed off at this. Tanto less so. Apter can actually put in a decent cross with either foot and with Dykes and Leaburn up top you’d think they’d need crosses. NJ likes to say he’s in charge of transfers, if so he spent close to 3.5m on two players he never plays. Bonkers.
  • Jones did both players an absolute disservice. Recruiting players that don’t play in positions you set your team up in is a so fucking bizarre. They both had to make a step up which combined with learning new positions/being told to play differently to what made them successful they were set up to fail.

I hope they both go on to show jones how wrong he was to let them go
  • Good luck Rob hopefully find a manager who believes in you and lets you flourish.

£2m + salary spent on this, yet Small released - a player who actually fitted the system to which Jones is resolutely committed.

An unbelievable combination of decision making.
Becoming more and more of the opinion that Rodwell and Jones are simply morons

At the moment there’s no overwhelming evidence that they are not!😂

Wishful thinking mate. I'm not sure these owners really have the stomach for it if I'm honest

Really gutting if so mate.  Was really hoping we'd finally got a sensible set of owners up for the challenge and could focus on concerning ourselves with the substandard football rather than substandard ownership for a change.

You live and die by your decisions.  Unless there is real trouble at the top as is being alluded to i.e. owners not interested/ not funding then if these new signings don't do the trick after letting Tanto and Apter go then their credibility will take a massive hit.

Apter wasn't Beckham but was definitely worthy of more of a go than he was given.

FFS, Small wanted to go, was on the way from January. It’s like people are having selective memory lapses to suit themselves since about 4:40 on Saturday

It’s not worked out so far, which is a shame, we went for League 1 all stars and it hasn’t gone quiet to plan, you now move to make sure you stay up, and the player profile changes.

I don't think the fees are the biggest issue Golfie, although I think there may be some truth in what your saying, it's more to do with signing someone with a contract paying £15000 a week, getting relegated and the club still paying that wage in league one. People are looking at other clubs spending, and in the main its clubs who are not looking over their shoulder at the bottom three. This problem, as you have pointed out many times, is created by poor recruitment in the pre-season and whatever people think of Apter and Oloafe, they were not good enough to make a difference.

Apter’s old man has liked this pop at Jones
  • Good, he should be held accountable for poor management
