Both wing-backs and leaburn quality so far... Eating humble pie. Keep it tight second half and then would probably get tc on for dykes. Didn't see this coming, Leicester are bang in trouble if they get a points deduction
  • Jones legs will have had to gone to the same
place Coady’s have for him to come off.

Fully expect him to come back out in the 2nd half

Coady had a go at Lloyd Jones at one point towards the end of the half for playing it around at the back and inviting pressure instead of whacking it forward.
He laid it back to him and his body language said “hit it long”. Instead Lloyd played a risky pass to Ramsay and we had to be careful not to let Mavididi in on goal. After Kaminski gathered, Coady pulled Jones up on it.

Maybe Chambers really was first choice. Had a great half.
    Fancy that!

(not intended to dig you out specifically btw)
👍 I thought he looked decent in the first game. Actually played on the front foot so stood out.

The first 4 or 5 pages of these comments absolutely reek of a 2-0 away win.
Well… not even the happiest clapper on the forum could’ve predicted this
For the love of God don't jinx us!

Quite excited to see fevrier, TC and godden on the pitch at the same time, hope that happens

Kick in the bollocks for you all...

Lloyd Jones looks in some discomfort as he comes in at the break, Adam Coe assisting him.

Blimey forgot about Fevrier. Seems a good option late on against 10 men

So far so good…….but I, like all Addicks, are left wondering if we can somehow contrive to fuck this up.
Such has been our season thus far.
Dare I say it but we really need a third in order to relax.🤞🤞🤞

Well. We started pretty well, Leicester are set up to press our defence very high which is odd because we just want to lump it anyway. Maybe they were expecting us to try and play into Coventry's feet but we basically invented the big diag and so there's a huge gap between their front line and the rest of their side which Clarke has taken full advantage of. They can't get near Leaburn in the air and Doc has been getting up for those second balls like a madman. The straight ball over the top has been shockingly effective though and that led to the red card after Miles did brilliantly to get round his man. Leicester weirdly didn't change anything after that and haven't stopped pressing our defence which is very sporting of them. Second half I cannot imagine that they could possibly come out with a worse midfield setup than they have today. When we're winning the midfield with a lineup of Coady, Docherty and a completely absent (apart from the goal) Carey then you really are in trouble. We need to come out second half and be strong again. I really would be shocked if they don't do more in the middle and that's not our strength. We saw at The Valley that even when Leicester aren't at it there's players in their team who can bring out a moment of top quality and we can't have that happen. When we get to 60 minutes I imagine Fevrier will come on for Chambers and probably TC for Dykes and we should be able to introduce their tired 10 to a bit of pace. Leicester have had to make two separate subs as well so that will limit the number of changes they can make second half. No reason we can't get a third here and hopefully a clean sheet

Are the underwhelmers feeling more whelmed by the transfers now?
    I actually feel whelmed.
    You'll get over it
    I might even become gruntled.

Coady slots in at centre back, Jones off and wrapped in cotton wool, bring on Costello to play alongside Docherty, we'll be fine
  • Two great crosses, that what has been missing this season

I love Charlton, but I was getting worried.

I thought we were getting outclassed in this divison

Do not forget Blackburn, winning 2-0 then let them score two simple goals

If we grab a 3rd then Jones off. Coady back to CB and maybe get Coventry on to tick things over.

Dykes for TC and Chambers for Fevrier also seems sensible in that situation.

Well that wasnt in the script. Making the most of our man advantage and using the wide players to create space. Excellent. Still need to keep them quiet for the next 15-20 minutes, and then we can use Campbell to waste time on the break.

    Cannot throw this one away...

    COYA!

Great first half. Was optimistic when I saw the line up. So good to see Greg Docherty do what he does best, we have been missing that in the centre of the pitch. Coady strong in midfield as well and showing his leadership qyality. Regardless of the red card we started brightly. Two very good goals with quality crosses from Clarke and Chambers. The latter surprisingly good going forward, just what we need. Happy so far but don't get complacent yet.

Your humble pie must be laced with something if you think Leaburn was both quality and on the bench

Hands ups I hated the line up and fully expected us to get spanked today. Happy to eat my words.

I'd rather bring on Costello, Coventry only knows how to pass backwards

I know it’s a well worn cliche but the next goal is vital. We go 3 0 up and I can see us running riot. Concede and it’ll be backs against the wall until full time

Leicester are a poor side, the way they lost to Oxford last week highlighted that. But they have talented individuals,  and Fatawu can still do something brilliant out of nothing.

I don't think it will matter though,  as we should score another if we keep this up. A transformed side,  both in the workrate, but more surprisingly the quality of our football.

Miles is unplayable,  the quality of delivery from the wingbacks is another level,  while Carey and Dykes are such a threat in the box.

He needs a rest. He’s been playing through more than we realise I expect. We don’t more Edwards and Godden situations on our hands asking players to play through injuries.

Evaluation from a Leicester fan on Reddit, they really dont seem confident.
We’re going to need at least 12 new players in the summer but where are we going to get the money from? Every penny we have goes towards inflated contracts and interest payments. I also can’t see us picking up any points until we play Wednesday in April we’re dire. Half the squad can’t be together because they’re leaving and there’s no money for transfers... We’re going to start next season on -12 when we go into administration. We’re going to end up like Reading, or God forbid Bury FC.

Do not concede early - they’ve still some very dangerous players

we’ll likely melt if they score the next goal

Could Leicester get dragged into the relegation scrap? They looked poor with 11.

This does make me feel better about Oxford picking up a scrappy win here too. Less of a surprising result that in seemed.
