If Coady is genuinely a midfield signing that is a joke.

We needed players able to get up and down with a bit of attacking quality. Coady is the exact opposite of that.

    Still as cross with it?????
Played reasonably well today albeit not much to do. Couldn’t have asked for an easier debut really.

If you think he’ll be the same against 11 men without- or a side that are semi capable then that’s fair.

Worked today. Guess we’ll find out if it fits long term.
I think he played there today due to the game and form of others.  Doubt it is a longterm fix.

Now he’s lined up there it makes perfect sense to me.

I was far from convinced about him coming in to play centre back but it was a “in Jones we trust moment”.

Instead, he’s coming in to be the shield and the general in the middle of the pitch. Couldn’t ask for a better January option for that role.

Jones has done his nut on multiple occasions in the last month over our midfielders not doing what he wants them to do. At Blackburn, against Chelsea, Millwall…

His nous in front of the back three is going to be invaluable.
If he alternates with Coventry will give Conor a chance for a break, or alongside him will make midfield stronger.

Have heard a rumour from a mate, so it's probably shit but we're interested in Will Ferry from Dundee Utd.

Can’t see us shipping in another full back.

Coady in midfield rather than as a CB does make sense, as it utilises his ability on the ball and organisational abilities, rather than  his weakness in one to one defending. Especially when he best back 3 position is where Lloyd plays.

It also makes the signing of Collins less of a luxury than I had previously thought.

Interesting that NJ said post match that we might bring some of our summer recruitment forward over the next couple of days
Assume that’s Collins Sichenje, especially with Lloyd Jones foot in danger of going the same way that Coady’s legs have.

Which his way of saying you can have early big presents now but you won't get them later, when everyone else is opening theirs.

Colins and then a CM in on a permanent wouldn't surprise me.

  • Will Ferry is a decent rumour. Do still think we need another LWB (now Edwards is out for the season) as we’ll need to manage minutes with Chambers & Bell is needed in the LCB role.

Won player of the year at Dundee Utd last season. Sounds highly rated.

Decent player and wouldn’t mind him on the left at all. Did well for Cheltenham before his move up to Scotland and he’s hopeful of trying to become more established in the Ireland senior team.

You would have to adjust a bit because of the level and game time but his stats compared to Edwards this season are remarkably similar. Last year they played the exact same number of minutes which helps for comparison too

Blackburn Rovers and Charlton Athletic are both monitoring the situation of Dundee United vice-captain Will Ferry ahead of the transfer deadline. There is also on-going interest from Major League Soccer, where Vancouver Whitecaps and Real Salt Lake are interested in the 25-year-old Irish midfielder.

I was about to post that. It reads like it came from an article, but I've not found one anywhere.

Blackburn being linked doesnt surprise me, as saw one of their current Full-Backs is being linked with Genoa

Genoa are also after Krama at Millwall, Blackburn player seems more attainable for them

We're signing Will Ferrell? Liked him in Elf, Isn't he a bit old now!
  • One "interesting" aspect about Ferry potentially joining, is the fact that we've just sold Maynard-Brewer to Dundee United, so wonder if that might help carry some weight for us...

There’s not too much room for activities in the current squad
  • I know it’s a League 1 player but I do like the look of Reyes Cleary for Barnsley. 5 goals and 8 assists this season and whilst he’s chaotic he does look the business - wonder if we’ve had a look at him.

Every club in the championship is after him apparently.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there were Premier League teams in for him as well.

Traditional winger and apparently had a very bad attitude at West Brom could not be further from a Jones player.
Do like the idea of Ferry from Dundee but the way Jones was talking about Fevrier that he can play both sides does make me think we think we have enough at Wingback to see out the last 3rd of the season

Cant see Woolwich being happy with that
They won't be worried about that playing north of the river now.
