If a CM doesn’t come in I’m going to be disappointed. I’m not convinced that midfield is good enough to stay up at all and since we were in for Field clearly Jones doesn’t think so either.
It’s good enough to be 18th at the moment. Yes it could have done with an upgrade but the midfield hasn’t been the reason for our form tanking the last few months. Plus we’ve added Coady there

The big worry for me is at LWB. If chambers gets injured we are back to playing Bell there until he breaks or Fevrier/TC playing out of position
Coady is not a solution at CM, he can cover at CDM but we need a number 8, The Docherty/Anderson position

Some great posts there. We're basically signing a hopeless fat guy.
But, potentially losing 'a big lump that scores' !

Absolute nonsense, I haven’t even had a phone call.
    You’re not hopeless.
  • He had a pretty solid youth career, although i'm not sure how Brentford snuck in there. It's fair to say his senior career hasn't quite lived up to the promise he clearly had as a kid.

Injury proneness 18 in FM, 2 points below Chuks who naturally gets 20.
  • A bit disappointing if we end up with poveda. We really need a box to box player

Poveda being cruelly mocked by Mackem fans for his body profile. As it goes we have Jerome and Onels old shorts available and if they're to small he wouldn't get through the tunnel to the pitch anyway.

Get a left footed creative #10, NO NOT THAT ONE

Maybe he interviews really really well

We have Docherty, Anderson and Costello. It’s not great but it’s been ok so far. Docherty was excellent earlier in the season, just need him back to that and Saturday was a good sign. Costello showed some signs of being good last month, and Anderson was doing fine as an 8 and was only shit when Jones moved him deeper

It’s not great and I’d have liked an upgrade, but to suggest we will get relegated without adding is a bit much imo

Loads of people when Knibbs got injured. We are one Carey injury from relying on Berry/Fullah every game

Mbick needs to be eight figures, but how much for TC or Kanu?
I love our academy but comments like this are outrageous and hilarious. 7 goals in 20 games at League Two level and suddenly he’s worth £10m+?
For MM its not just his goals but his overall game. £5m bought us Tante, Burke and Apter, none of whom are contributing to our season
Or £5m bought us our keeper, knibbs and Kelman, all of whom have been regularly involved. I’m guessing it depends on what way you want to spin it
Keeper only starter and I'm not convinced. Kelman and Knibbs usually off bench. Despite £12m spent only Kaminsky is a guaranteed starter and he barely leaves his line.

Oh no, I think we'll be fine purely because it seems like everyone below us is totally useless at the minute

I dunno looks like he needs a few more burgers if he wants to emulate the great Roussillon.

I'm pretty sure we got linked with Poveda when we were in league 1 and people weren't keen

Didn't Docherty play in that role at the start of last season?

It is actually a shame we weren't in for Aribo, he can play as an 8 and a 10...

    The window has slammed shut!

A reminder that we can ask for an extra 2 hours to complete anything with a deal sheet and we can announce any deals at any time

I can’t remember if I saw this on CL or elsewhere, but we might be due a bit of a windfall if Lookman leaves Atalanta. You’d hope that might encourage the board to invest in a half-decent attacking midfielder or striker — someone who can actually finish. And weren’t we linked with a Japanese left-back not that long ago? Curious if that’s still a thing.
