Playing some nice stuff now Sheffield united keep it going
  • Draw would be nice between Sheff Utd and Oxford, as keeps the former within touching distance of us to jump above them
  • With Oxford's fixtures this month they could be cut adrift by the end of the month. Would rather they lost. Then we just have to worry about finishing above 1 of West Brom, Blackburn, Portsmouth or Leicester.

Was hoping Blackburn would slip up more, but that’s a tough ask even at Chef Wendies

Blackburn are truly woeful. Making Sheff Wed look good.

Blackburn really haven’t looked good considering it’s Wednesday.

There could be a goal here for Wednesday, although  they have almost nothing in terms of attacking threat.

The audacity of Blackburn fans ‘Ole-ing’ passes after scraping a 1-0 win at home to a side of children.

Beat QPR go 11 ahead of Oxford surely they’re not catching that
  • Looks like Oxford’s mini revival has come to an end. If Leicester do get a 12 points deduction could be the bottom three almost decided.

It won’t be 12, far more likely 6

    Agree, that's the target.

I think Pompey and Norwich both have a run in them which might leave last relegation place between us, Blackburn and West Brom.  Unless Leicester do get a big deduction…
Pompey at home is massive imho

On the other hand, if we lose then the gap is still 8 points, and we still have to go to their place! Beating QPR would be massive though. On Saturday,

Blackburn are away to Norwich, you'd expect a Norwich win
Leicester are away to Birmingham, you'd expect them to lose that
Oxford are away to Coventry, a tough game but Coventry aren't playing well
Pompey are away at Preston, a game they could get something out of
West Brom are home to Stoke, a tough fixture.

Why do I have this fear that Leicester's point deduction wont happen until next season ?

I keep reading its imminent but weeks go by & nothing happens. And if/when it does get declared can they appeal it so it drags on for another month or two.

    Absolutely ridiculous.

'On Saturday,' is the start of a new sentence and then the fixtures for that day are listed.

I wouldn't be so sure about Birmingham turning up against Leicester. They have demonstrated on enough occasions that they can be absolutely useless

Birmingham are really good at home though, it's their away form which is poor.

Exactly. We need a big 3 points on Friday night, puts the pressure on the teams below us🤞

Blackburn do really seem like 'the real deal' when it comes to being a shambles, obviously they have been ran by the same owners for a while and there hasn't been much to be positive about and I do feel for the fans, as we have been there, we know what the real darkest days look like under bad ownership. But, in context of this season, I do think they are really going to struggle to stay up, they have been poor for a really long time. I wouldn't wish useless owners on anyone but right now I think they could be the difference between us playing in the Championship next year.

There are also Pompey and WBA, I would put them roughly on the same level as us so far this season, WBA form has been rank but I think they have enough quality, just, to be OK. Pompey are our equals really and they have found a bit of form, something we really need to do this month. Sheffield Utd, Norwich and Swansea are not relegation rivals as far as I'm concerned. I want Norwich to thump Blackburn this weekend and so should everyone else!

A bit of form and a decent run this month we could finish a comfortable 16th, but if we continue with performances similar to the other week at the d*n, I still think happenings at Blackburn and Oxford may just mean we are OK.

If you’re using 50pts as the safety benchmark (which I think is reasonable), then we only need to find 5 wins.  Without being dismissing Sheff Wed, you would hope that is one of them.  Knowing us we will screw it up

It will be tough for Oxford.  They’ve never really got going this season.  WBA are an interesting one to watch.  Their fans were apoplectic against Pompey last week (quite rightly imo).  This new manager is a massive gamble at the wrong time imo.  We must hope that the toxicity remains as we want them well and truly sucked into it.  Blackburn similar.

It’s ultimately in our hands though and if we screw it up in our position, I will have very little sympathy for the players and manager.  At the start of the season I knew it would be tough, and I didn’t have any expectations other than to come up and give it a go, but with 17 games left and 5 wins to be achieved, I think it would be a pretty poor showing if we screwed it up

Sheffield Wednesday could be relegated at Bramall Lane in a couple of weeks.
