Is the deadline tonight? We could really do with bringing in a striker and a midfielder to help us control the games we can't kill off better. As good as we've been I don't think it would take all that much for us go into a dip in form and just bringing in another attacker and a defender who doesn't appear to be first team isn't likely to be enough to offset the big spending we've seen at teams around us0

Deadline is tonight but signings are often announced quite late by us so don’t be surprised to see something announced on Friday or something. It’s good we have at least tried to sign a strikerGarrymanilow said:Is the deadline tonight? I've been struggling for months to get club to promote the 1905 hospitality with the match tickets.JustFloydRoad said:Swindon_Addick said:8 Feb: Nottingham Forest, away, 2pm. At the City Ground. £12 adult, £10 over-66, £7 student or under-18. Tickets from here.
15 Feb: Durham, home, 12 noon. At the Valley. £7 adult, £5 over-65, £2 under-18. Tickets from usual website.
22 Feb: Oxford United, away, 2pm. FA Cup round 5. At Oxford City FC. £8 adult, £4 over-65, free under-16/ Tickets from here.
1 Mar: 2-week international break. England play Ukraine in Antalya, Turkey, on 3 March.
8 Mar: 2-week international break. England play Iceland at Nottingham Forest (12.30 ko) on 7 March.
Seats and standing at the Oxford game are all unreserved. It's isn't totally clear whether you're supposed to specify which stand you're going for when you buy of if you just buy one at random. Probably a good idea to pick one of the two seating areas if you want a seat, just in case.Just Noting:Sun 15th March Charlton vs Sunderland : Regular (£7) Hospitality (£14)andSat 4th Apr: Charlton vs Portsmouth: Regular (£7) Hospitality (£14)are on the club's website.
Finally happened for the Durham game.
I understand, from chatting to a ticketing/promotion teams elsewhere, why the club is promoting the regular rather than the hospitality tickets. I tend to just promote both without giving an explanation (since I don't work for the club I cannot provide one anyway 🤷♂️).

I'm not suggesting that you do. The problem is that hospitality is a marketing department responsibility at the club.JustFloydRoad said:Crusty54 said:

After a lot of correspondence with the club I think (and hope) that future ticketing announcements will feature hospitality.
Unfortunately they managed to include it in the Oxford FA Cup announcement in error.0 -
Let's take Williamson, Foord, Bright, Toone, Reiten, Hampton and McCabe 😎JustFloydRoad said:Out of Contract WSL list 👀2 -
Due to the extra games between August and April now the ladies are also playing their games on it over the winter months ?Crusty54 said:
Not really practical as the pitch needs a lot of work during the close season.letthegoodtimesroll said:
Get the women’s game moved to May- September so it’s not competing for the Mens game fan revenues over the same weekends or trying to convince fans to come to games on a cold and wet Sunday. If fans are having to choose between the men’s game and the women’s game for their money and their weekend time commitments there is likely only going to be one winner. There is a gap for football in the summer, the women’s game could fill that and clubs would increase their stadium usage to all year around.JustFloydRoad said:
Anyone got any (sensible) ways they would be able to raise attendances?0 -
Clubs always do maintenance work in the off season and it’s worth remembering we wouldn’t have this pitch without the funding from the women’s teamletthegoodtimesroll said:

The excellent work by Louise McGing in putting the case forward for a £750,000 grant from the Premier League stadium fund and a six figure sum from the owners back in April 2024.fenaddick said:

Anyone got any (sensible) ways they would be able to raise attendances?tbf this is why I am making more of an effort to going to their games this season.I find the matchday experience (I don't go for hospitality) more socially engaging. I was talking to a guy in the cafe about why I go to the games, and said it feels really sociable.Defiantly different to when I went to that 3-2 vs Palace (before they got promoted) back then it just felt so stagnate (basically pub, game then Jazz in the evening).

Looks like we didn't add anyone else then. Quite a risk that's been taken there, especially with there being talk that the ownership were very interested in the women's team. Best time to strengthen is from a position of power so it feels like a missed opportunity. Let's hope it doesn't come back to bite us; Bristol City have signed Katie Robinson and two European internationals this window, Birmingham have spent a tonne so we'll need to stay on our game to secure promotion. Really feel like we should have got a proper striker in to kill off these games against weaker team where we're dropping points1

I wouldn’t want McCabe anywhere near our squad tbh.0

She'd be an absolutely fantastic leader and add some bite we don't have. She'll go off to America anyway I'm sureKBslittlesis said:I wouldn’t want McCabe anywhere near our squad tbh.0 -
But she honestly wouldn’t unless it was her way. Too much of a risk for me.fenaddick said:

It’s why she’s on her way, bigger fish there now and she can’t handle it.
I'm intrigued where she rocks up tbh as she’ll still want to get in the Ireland squad 🧐0 -
Carla Humphrey's back in training, wonder if we see her before the season ends?

So good to see Carla back after her c section 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻♥️3

Yeah, assuming nothing is announced now (the straw I'm clutching at is that we announced the signing of Atlanta Primus last season a few days after the deadline!), other teams have definitely strengthened a lot more than we have, unless Lockwood and Waldie turn out to be world-beaters.Garrymanilow said:Looks like we didn't add anyone else then. It's odd that we made those two signings pretty early in the window, so we must had the deals done well in advance, and then we seemingly did nothing (although I get the lack of a rumour mill makes it almost impossible to know) until the move for Emily Murphy as reported above. She feels like the kind of player we should be after, making the most of the position of strength we're in right now by targeting the better players at strong teams in this division, but presumably we didn't have a Plan B and so have ended up with nothing.1 -
I think it was a massive mistake that Louise McGinn was forced to re-apply for her job after she succeeded in getting the grant for the pitch improvement.
She did a lot of work in building crowds which has been lost.0 -

For anyone who's coming to the game, Forest's turnstiles are broken and digital tickets aren't working. You need to queue at the ticket office for a replacement. Arrive earlier than planned.0

They've just announced that the turnstile is has been fixed. About 50 in the away section quarter of an hour to go. Last time I watched the women play at Forest there were 2 of us. Admittedly that was in 2011.3
-
Durham have just equalised in the 98th minute against Birmingham!6
-
It finished 1-1, so this is a big opportunity for us.3
-
Don’t be surprised to see Forest dominate the ball, they play a real possession game

Brilliant strike! Great turn and pass from Muya, a bit of luck with the ricochet, and then a fantastic curler into the top corner.4
