@LoOkOuT has actually made it to the ground for tonight's match, so I'm subbing in for him. Apologies for the drop in quality.

In the first half we started a little bit slowly, but once we got into our groove, it's probably the best first half I've seen us have this season. We had a delay for Conor Coady to get his head bandaged up after a high foot caught him as he ducked in to head the ball. That only resulted in a booking, although Mike Dean on Sky reckoned it should've been a red, which I think would've been a touch harsh. Dykes was a handful, and Chambers had a cheeky shot from a free kick when we were expecting a cross that the keeper saved well, and he was definitely their best player in the 1st half. The QPR keeper is apparently from a family of Charlton fans, and also came out well to block a close range shot from Coady, so there may be mixed feelings in the Walsh household tonight.

Second half was another matter entirely. We had our moments, a couple of which Carey wasted, and the QPR keeper again did well, but Kaminski was definitely a lot busier. Towards the end it definitely felt like we were hanging on, and at one point Dykes had to clear off the line, but we got a point.

Final Score - Charlton Athletic 0 - 0 QPR

Over to you.

Five available changes and he uses three and we spend the last 20 minutes hanging on, unable to move around the pitch. Honestly, Jones has some explaining to do

Played well but Chambers going off made a massive difference. Soon as he does 90 minutes we will be fine. Amari Bell my mom... Campbell terrified me when he came on.... Berry less said I think but  Coventry should have come on for Docherty. Brownie called it right about the midfield disappearing..Jones could have done things different in my opinion.

Still 4 points from two games is good.

Will take the point in the end, Berry simply cant play for us again unless we are chasing a last-minute goal, he can barely move
  • Nathan saying on SKY that he thought we deserved to win it based on the 90mins, but thought we were lucky with the draw for the last 8mins - Also thinks that the Yellow Card was the right call for the high foot
  • Substitutions ranged from ineffective to outright disappointing. Why have JRC and Coventry but leave Coady on and bring on Berry?

Should've won that. If QPR had dominated it'd be a good result BUT... I think we played them off the park. IF Carey had slipped Clarke in?...... so frustrating.

Carey had a shocker. TC probably had the worst cameo I have ever seen. Ramsay still looks devoid of confidence and Berry shouldn't be near the team. Cov or JRC would have been better.

Saying that...a draw ended up being a fair result but first half we should have been 2 up.

Forget the entire first 90 minutes of the game and the other 13 players who played.

Tonight all I learned is that Luke Berry should be taken round the back of the shed and shot. And Nathan Jones with him for thinking he can still contribute anything.

I know we are fighting to stay up but Christ that was horrible to watch….not one player will get you out of your seat…..
  • 1 month ago we would’ve lost that. Saw it out, those last 10 were nervy

How Coady stayed on for 98 minutes I don't know. Looked obvious to bring on Coventry and JRC for him and Doc but no we get... Berry. Thankfully didn't cost us.

Every substitution seemed to make us worse. We missed Leaburn as Godden is still getting back up to speed. Why JRC wasn't brought on instead of Berry... Insane, but thankfully didn't cost us.

A fair result,  so an improvement on the away leg.
The worry is 1 pt at home  is not going to keep us up, and we will not get as many chances to score the other games, so not taken one of those chances is further worry.

I try not to get too bothered by the what if’s, but what if Carey plays the ball to a wide open Clarke?

What if we actually whip in the corner instead of doing the training ground bullshit?

A points a point, but damn I feel like we should have had all 3

Special thanks to TK’s face for preserving the draw

Worth remembering that we dont know what would have happened had JRC been brought on. We bemoan the Berry change, but nothing to say that JRC wouldn't have had a moment that would have proved even more costly had he come on. Hindsight is a beautiful gift, not that I mean it as a criticism as works the other way too
Frustrating we didn't take the chances that came out way. But Jones did his job as Manager tonight
  • Two clean sheets in a row after the debacle at the Spanners, that is a sign we are getting back to where we were in the first part of the season.

We all know it's not going to be pretty, we are going to set ourselves up as hard to beat and that means lots of tight games.

We basically need 14 points from 16 games to stay up - if we can't do that then we deserve to be relegated.

  • Should have one but could have lost in the last few minutes. I'll take the point and be happy.

at least JRC can run, berry moved like a limp dog
  • We were fine until Campbell was put on at left wingback again. The definition of madness. Suddenly QPR had space and momentum. Before the subs thought we were the best team. Coady was walking through treacle by 70 mins, hence we were getting overrun late in the game. Take a point but Jones needs to get the balance right in midfield.

Good first half where their keeper kept them in it. Ran out of legs in the second half and it was our keeper's turn to save us.

They looked a lot fitter in the latter stages and it was a strange decision to bring on Luke Berry. You can't play Coady and Berry in the same midfield at this level... That is bonkers. Especially when we were clearly lacking energy at that point.

Thought Coady was good and his passing shows what Coventry could be better at. Also seems to pop up in the box more (somehow lol). Dykes was great and Kelman did well.

I'm happy with a point in the end.

Oh, I don't particularly blame Jones. A lot of the new signings are still slightly unfit and it's not Nathan's fault that Carey seems to want to shoot all the time. And if we get a result on wednesday I'm sure no one will give a damn about this game...

Probably a fair result. We were better first half, they were better second half. I still worry about our midfield. Doc grafts well and wins seconds but we all know he's limited on the ball. Coady looks solid and well organized in there but he's mostly there for his defending. It leaves a lot for Carey to do to link play and I thought he did alright in the middle third tonight.

    Bell MOTM for me.
  • Think Fevrier rather than TC would've kept some balance.

Ran out of steam yet had steam on the bench. Clean sheet I guess but bringing on berry for doc was baffling as we were already handing on at that point. Carey also really poor decision making. He's always been a bit shit at releasing others but to not slide Clarke in for a square ball across the box was criminal.
Dykes motm for me. Hope we can sign him for at least another year.
  • Thought Marlon Dingle looked a bit off the pace in the midfield.
