They did a decent job of keeping him quiet, doubling up with Bennie and Edwards, to be fair to them.sam3110 said:I haven't seen a worse sub appearance than TC's tonight. One burst of energy in the opening 30 seconds, then absolutely nothing from him afterwards, just moped about the pitch, staying back when he should be attacking, then drifting forward aimlessly just as we lose it to be out of position.
When the ball did find him, he managed to pick the wrong option EVERY single time.
Just awful
That opened up some space for us on the other side late in the game but Carey decided to shoot instead of playing Clarke in on goal…5 -
Amari’i Bell through another game without injury is another positive.30

A hard-fought & battling draw.
The sort of game when you need your big signing from the summer to step-up with a goal but Kelman never looked like scoring.2 -
I feel like I’ve watched a different team from lots on here about it being a tough watch.I think back to a year or so ago and the difference is stark in a positive way. Kaminski Clarke, Bell, Chambers, Coady, Jones and Dykes were all excelllent.
Felt like another step in the right direction. We were good for 45 against Leicester but lasted 75 today. We had balance and fantastic work rate.
We tired and they grew in confidence, but at tenth clean sheet for a newly promoted side in 30 games is some going.
We played a team that cost a fair bit more than ours and we were undoubtedly the better side for most of that game.
Onwards and Upwards.27 -
Could have done with Leaburn tonight. Couldn’t seem to get Godden involved when he came on.

Two clean sheets after the humiliation so we look much tighter at the back and Bell and Chambers are a good combo and many of us are surprised that Coady is playing as the defensive midfielder which he hadn't done for several years; Conor is doing a decent job.
Only one team was going to win it in added time and it wasn't Cafc but a decent point and we had half chances over the 90 minutes with Chambers, Dykes, Ramsey and Carey who just didn't have his range tonight but Sonny is still the most likely to score.
After the humiliation in the South London Derby we were set up to be tight tonight and we looked defensively strong until QPR found more energy with their subs and so nearly mugged Charlton in added time.
A positive result as we didn't lose and with 5 chances for QPR as the added time started I will take that draw.
3 away 0-0 in their last 3 on their travels and with the west London club beating Coventry at home so no disgrace in a battling stalemate.3 -
Just one of those nights where it didn't fall for us. Plenty of chances and half chances but they didn't quite land or couldn't get it out our feet.
Felt like we tired at 70 minutes and they just walked through our midfield with ease. Needed fresh legs on CM so obviously. Dykes basically playing CM for the last 15. That just allowed them back into the game. It got more open and then as a result we started rushing our chances instead of working good positions when we had them.
Still felt like a game we should have won. But could easily have lost it on the last 20.
TK with a brilliant save 2nd half.10 -
All been said already really and can only agree for about 80 minutes we were very good but just couldn't find a goal. Then in injury time j aged 30 years as qpr did everything but score.
Great credit to Dykes in that period for having the sense to go back on the line and clear that shot.
Mom for me was Bell. Booby prize to Carey for thinking he can score from 30 yards every time he has the ball. And why on earth didn't he pass to Clarke instead of shooting.
Sooner we can get Chambers fit to play for 90 minutes the better.
Finally, NJ once again has me scratching my head. His substitutions made us worse. And bringing on Berry was moronic.6 -

PWR.
Delighted we didn’t lose which many Charlton sides would have in that last 10-20 minutes.
However felt we did enough for a goal so a bit disappointing that we didn’t get it.4 -
You just know it will be Wrexham.Callumcafc said:Still yet to see another team do the double over us this season.7 -
Pressing was fine but he didnt release the ball quick enough at times and not passing to Clarke was piss poor. And yes his shooting was awful!RC_CAFC said:
Carey didn’t have a shocker at all, he just left his shooting boots at home. His pressing with Docherty were excellent and he caused them a lot of issues.king addick said:Carey had a shocker. TC probably had the worst cameo I have ever seen. Ramsay still looks devoid of confidence and Berry shouldn't be near the team. Cov or JRC would have been better.
Saying that...a draw ended up being a fair result but first half we should have been 2 up.
Agree about Berry though. That change made no sense to me.
Dont get me wrong, I beleive the concept of you cant always play well but he needs to learn from the mistakes because he is a good player, I just thought he was poor overall tonight.1 -
Lyndon should stay for longer imho.7

First half they were trying to work openings and good positivity from the two wing backs. The second half really highlighted the inescapable fact that we just aren’t good enough at this level going forward. We really faded and I was pleased not to get beat in the end (great stop from Kaminski)
All the players huff and puff but the reality is, we’re not good enough to unlock teams at this level. The window is done now and if we keep the majority of those starting fit for the remainder, we’ll 100% fight and compete for the remaining 16 games, but we will have to win a few. My worry is the home games. It’s on us to win. Away we can sit in, keep it tight and it suits us. At home I’m a bit unsure2 -
An immediately forgettable game tbh. We had much the better of the first half but ultimately ran out of ideas and steam in the second. On the positive side we looked much less fragile at the back and the January additions look to have shored us up significantly.6

I will never castigate Carey for shooting. He is our top goalscorer & his goals may well keep us up. Tonight was just not his night.DDOUBLEE said:
Oh, I don't particularly blame Jones. A lot of the new signings are still slightly unfit and it's not Nathan's fault that Carey seems to want to shoot all the time. And if we get a result on wednesday I'm sure no one will give a damn about this game...ForeverAddickted said:DDOUBLEE said:Every substitution seemed to make us worse. We missed Leaburn as Godden is still getting back up to speed. Why JRC wasn't brought on instead of Berry... Insane, but thankfully didn't cost us.Worth remembering that we dont know what would have happened had JRC been brought on. We bemoan the Berry change, but nothing to say that JRC wouldn't have had a moment that would have proved even more costly had he come on. Hindsight is a beautiful gift, not that I mean it as a criticism as works the other way tooFrustrating we didn't take the chances that came out way.But Jones did his job as Manager tonight10 -
Too negative again.Almost unwatchable.8

One of West Brom and Blackburn to go down with The Massives and Oxford.
We have improved since the window.

Will take the point.
Bit more quality first half in the final 3rd and it could have been 3 points.
Our midfield is totally lacking in pace and quality. First touch is woeful and inability to pick a pass etc.
Glad that Carey gets forward and gets those chances - if only he could hit the target sometimes!
There was definitely a better balance to the side until Chambers went off. We look to have a better all round team now - but Berry was not the man to come on for the final 15 mins.
Well - onwards and hopefully upwards. Points against lower half rivals upcoming will be crucial.....

Hard fought point. Difficult conditions against a strong physical opponent. Based on the first half I was disappointed with a point but on the balance of the whole 90, it’s a good point in my opinion.Stoke is a free hit. Pompey is fucking huge!1
-
Solid performance no thrills but has been better with a balanced team. Jones did his best in the end to fuck it all up. TC at LWB again the bloke will never learn. Carey and Coady where knackered and had nothing left everyone could see it except for Jones. QPR were nothing special, it just shows there’s is not a huge difference between 20th all the way up to the playoffs. Stay up and build with a few better players and we can top half easily.6
-
Great first half with no reward.
Second half was a poor effort.
The signs started when Clarke was struggling to get out every time he got the ball and was pushing it backwards.
Carey really lost his head at times. He was frustrated I get it, but he needs to show more intelligence when his back is up.
Thought Doch and Dykes were good.
Campbell will be the death of Jones I tell ya. He puts so much hope in him and he continuously lets him down. Yes he runs... but his football intelligence is so far off the mark at this level.3 -
Don’t worry mate, we’ve got Stoke on Wednesday!Callumcafc said:Still yet to see another team do the double over us this season.2 -
Seems that I’m in the minority in thinking that was quite an entertaining 0-0 and we played well in the first half and OK in the second until the last 20.
we snapped into tackles and that was a bit more like the side we were away at Bristol City, rather than the team away at Millwall.18 -

Only time he took on his man was in the first 30 secs of coming on, then spent the rest of the evening tapping the ball back to Bell or Doc.5 -
Do people find (or care if) Charlton matches entertaining? I generally spend the whole time feeling slightly ill, praying we don’t concede, hoping we score. God knows what it is, but it isn’t entertainment !SporadicAddick said:Seems that I’m in the minority in thinking that was quite an entertaining 0-0 and we played well in the first half and OK in the second until the last 20.

What was the question?0 -
Missed our chance of 3pts by not scoring when on top 1st half, Dykes doesn’t stop running, I like him was really critical of his signing but proving me wrong at the moment. If ever I’ve seen the writing on the wall for a rubbish performance it was tonight , half time TC shoots at an open goal… hits the post!! It didn’t get any better!😂, Ramsay is an accident waiting to happen at the moment, don’t know what’s going on there. The positive is we look very well balanced with our starting lineup, we need to get the changes right though.0

I agree, I thought we'd played well and created some nice openings, we just didn't take our chances and then had a very bad last 10. It was a good performance, I don't know what people honestly expect sometimesSporadicAddick said:Seems that I’m in the minority in thinking that was quite an entertaining 0-0 and we played well in the first half and OK in the second until the last 20.
