Ideally next season we have both Bree and Clarke as our options for RWB

    Best player yesterday i thought

     bree who?
Wouldn’t be surprised to see us try and get both of them in the summer. Think we’re trying to slowly move away from the 352/4231 to a traditional 352 and going for proper proper out and out wingbacks.

Also had far better success with experienced older players who have played at this level but not quite good enough for top clubs opposed to L1 talents.
  • Bree and Clarke would be exceptional.  But Clarke the better of the two on performances so far.

Clarke has had fewer bad performances but after the same number of games so had Bree and he was the second coming of Christ prior to his injury after which he was dogshit and shoudn't ever play for the team again.

Clarke and Bree could also easily play together in our system. Really hope we can sign both

Really don’t think we are anywhere near the position where we could say no to a player as good as Bree. He’s got loads of experience at this level, and is currently starting and playing well for a team that has a squad that is massively better than ours. His form dropped with us but it was blindingly obvious he was carrying an injury, when fit he was very good

We’d be crazy not to sign both him and Clarke if we get the chance

We should be exploring what else is out there before rushing to sign Bree, especially if we manage to bring in Clarke permanently and now we're looking abroad.

Bree would do a solid job but he'd be expensive if he's mainly cover for Clarke, and there could be a younger player out there who's a more natural fit as a wing back. Bree looked more like a full back who could play wing back to me rather than an out and out wing back.
  • Definitely would like to see us sign Clarke in the summer. Proper Championship experience and already proved his worth for us. It’s signings like him over league one punts that will move us forward. I do think we’ll need to have retained our Championship status to get him though.

A back 5 of Clarke and Edwards either side of Bell, Jones and Ramsay, when all fit and on form, would be near enough the ideal Nathan Jones defense.

If we had both Clarke and Bree available, I’d think it’s likely both would be in the team.

Ramsay is likely to leave imo, we are going to need multiple signings again there. If there is an another right sided defender out there we can sign that’s better than Bree I’d be very surprised. And we should be aiming for 2 good players in every position

I also don’t agree with that assessment of Bree. He was much better when we had the left sided balance so that he could play much further forward on the right. When he was injured he couldn’t really get forward at all and had to be more defensive anyway because TC was on the left. So it looked like a full back playing wing back then, but when he was fit and playing his best he was very attacking and playing as a winger in possession

Sichenje potentially replaces Ramsay, backed up by Burke. As long as Sichenje settles we won't necessarily sign another who's first choice position is RCB, never mind bringing in Bree or Clarke to play there despite it not being their best position.

I think that's overrating Bree based on that initial spell. He's never been a goalscorer so that wasn't going to continue, and was never realistically going to get assists as often as he did over a whole season.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bree came back, but I don't see how there can't possibly be better options out there, especially as we're likely to start making more signings from abroad.

Really really like Clarke so far, think he's been a great addition and would love to see him sign on a perm if he continues this vein of form and fitness

I think the truth is probably somewhere in the middle but you're a little harsh on Bree. While I agree that the flurry of goals wasn't sustainable he's now come in for Saints as their right back and been part of two wins and a draw including getting an assist from a brilliant corner (which will probably wind some people up!) on Saturday. I think we could probably find a RWB with a different profile to him, quicker or more attacking but we'll also do very well to find a player with over 200 Championship appearances who can carry out the role Nathan Jones wants so well. I'm slightly amazed we found Harry Clarke. The real question will be if we want two similar RWBs or go for a different type of player.

I thought it was his weakest game for us and he was still very good. Got done for pace by Thomas but never left behind and it’s a testament to his tenacity that Thomas only managed to get the ball across twice to no-one. Really good signing

Think he probably was facing the best left winger he has yet for us, no shame in being beaten a couple of times by a player of Thomas's quality

Although he might not have the initial impact of Bree so far in assists etc I think he is a better player technically and is soo good on the ball and holding his position defensively plus driving up the pitch.

Brilliant loan signing - one of the best we have had in terms of slotting right in and doing a job

Would be the first player I'd look to sign in the summer. Wouldn't mind if it needed a fee to make it happen but he's a class act , most fullbacks at this level will get done by Thomas a couple of times a game.

I know It's only been 5 games but he's just so consistent as well, not "fancy' spectacular but he's such a solid performer. Would take him on a perm in an instant.

Think we need Ipswich to go up to have any hope of signing him. A fully fit Clarke gets in their squad in the champ

Got a bit of 'mongrel' in him, which is what we have missed on both flanks, since Edwards got crocked. Big upgrade on Bree, and lets hope we can make it permanent in the summer. Certainly hard to see many better options than him becoming available to us.

There's a big difference to when he receives the customary awkward ball out wide, to Bree, who would just flick it to an opposition player.

Both are decent, but there's no way you could play (or afford) Clarke, Bree, and Kayne for two positions.

Think it ultimately ends up being Kayne moving on in the summer , Clarke and a cover RWB in , Sichenje as the RCB replacement
