Vitopnik is in the form of his life right now, top scorer in the league, on a free from Bordeaux a couple of years ago, proves there's a lot of value in European football without having to spend a lot

I’m not sure why Sheff Wed fans are leaving early.
Fair play to them for travelling to away games under the circumstances this season, but what are they expecting to see? They’ve got no players, so they must know they’re likely to get walloped every week? Why leave ten minutes early? Are they unhappy with the effort? Did they really think, at 2-0, they had a chance of getting back into the game? I can’t imagine it’s easy playing every week knowing you’re going to get beat. Don’t they think their players need their support?
    All very strange.

Nice goal from Malick Yalcouyé who, incidentally, is just 20 years old but has the hairline of Attilio Lombardo.

Wednesday in danger of being relegated with a minus points tally. That's a "massive" achievement.

Anyone who remembers 2011/12, will no doubt recall Sheff. Weds serious chip on their shoulder as we blew everyone away under Chrissy.

So forgive me if sympathy is in short supply.

Both Sheffield clubs seemed to think they had a god given right to the title that year.

Also gave it bigguns when we got relegated and they should’ve been docked points. Hope they rot for many a year

Has it ever happened before in league football? Maybe when Luton were deducted 30?

Nope, even they managed to get up to 26 points despite that.

They gave up the ghost weeks ago, not even trying it seems.
I don’t think that’s right. Their squad is made up of kids and journeymen. They’ve lost every decent player they had.
The reason they keep losing is not through lack of effort. They just don’t have enough quality or experience.
I feel sorry for them as players because they look like they’re doing their best, but it must be so demoralising to get turned over week after week.
Not going to shed tears for Wednesday as a club, but I think the players deserve some respect. They just don’t have much of a chance in most games.
Having said all that, the experience this year may even be the making of some of them.

They are possibly on course to get relegated at Bramall Lane in 2 weeks time.

If they lose to Millwall on the 14th and one of Blackburn (vs QPR and Preston) or Leicester (vs Southampton or Stoke) get at least one point from their next two matches i.e. not four losses across both teams, Sheffield Wednesday would be relegated with a loss at Sheffield United on the 22nd.

I still reckon it won’t be easy for us up at Hillsborough

Robbie Savage to Blackburn... Na, got a feeling Rowett for them and I saw Russel Martin is a favourite for Leicester.

I know we already knew this, but boy oh boy did we get a stroke of luck with those two Sheffield United wallies getting themselves sent off against us.
They may have just gone one down tonight, but they look very good. Boro, to be fair, are showing why they’re challenging for top spot.

If Russel Martin takes the Leicester job then that's them relegated. He's got no clue & has no plan B. Still gets the team to play tippy tappy at the back & wonders when they lost the ball and concede.

    Jesus.
This has been a great game, but there was a spell of thirty seconds there where everyone looked like the keystone cops!

Martin would be a ludicrous appointment. The only way that type of manager could work, would be to bring him in during the summer and having pre season to implement his style. Doing it mid season, there would be so many mistakes as defenders tried to adapt to his style...

Chris Wilder won’t think so. He didn’t even think his player’s tackle on Knibbs was a red. Not content with crocking our player for the season with a disgraceful challenge, he still felt his team was hard done by.
    The nobhead.

Boro haven’t dropped a single point when they’ve taken the lead this season.
either opening the scoring or going ahead during the game. Every time they go in front they’ve walked away with 3 points.
