The power of having a LWB at LWB and Amari'i Bell existing. I said after the QPR game that I felt Jones should have brought TC on instead of Godden when Kelman came off and you could immediately see the effect it had with TC being free to run at players without worrying about his defensive duties and being able to run in behind off Dykes winning the ball in the air. We gave Stoke an absolutely miserable time, restricted them solely to playing wide and forced them to play with the ball in the air. We're better at that than them and it was no surprise eventually we bullied them into a defeat. We could have had more, we created some real clear cut chances but you only need to take one when you defend as well as we did and that little injection of pace at the end against a battered Stoke defence was too much for them. Sorba Thomas was a threat again but other than a couple of dangerous balls across that his teammates couldn't get near we were comfortable and it never really felt like we could lose, it was just a question of if we'd get that goal. I thought Docherty was superb off the ball as well, his return has mitigated some of the risks with Coady coming in as Coady takes up the right positions but Doc does the running off him to ensure he's not passed around and we're so much more solid as a result. A great 3 points15

This is the starting team that played against Portsmouth a few weeks back
Kaminski, Gillesphey, Jones, Ramsay, Coventry, Hermandez, Bree, Anderson, Carey, Campbell, Olaofe And this is the team that will probably play against Portsmouth on the 17thKaminski, Bell, Jones, Ramsay, Chambers, Docherty, Coady, Clarke, Carey, Godden, DykesSomehow in the middle of the season we have completely changed the team, regained confidence and momentum and playing some nice attacking football.Keep Bell fit and playing Campbell, Dykes, Kelman and Godden up front and we should be OK.

Sprinkling some Pratley-dust on the game did the trick!20

Football supporters...
Sing "Nathan Jones; is a w@nker; is a w@nker" all game...
And then get upset when he tells them to "f*ck off"...18 -
Really important win that was, The balance in the team is back and results along with it. The experience in Dykes and Coady is so noticeable though, neither of them filled me with joy when we signed them but they have brought character and know how to our team.3

Weirdly i prefer it when it’s a third full and everyone there is so because they want to and being supportive.paulsturgess said:Appalling crowd. Tv / streams really don’t help for these cold rainy mid winter midweeks
Fans there were great tonight. Shame we haven’t got more that want to turn out for these games, but remember what those empty blocks look like the next time we sell well a heavily marketed promotional game and people talk about ground expansion .21 -
What a massive win that is. Hard to believe I was watching Charlton v Stoke after what I witnessed live at the Bet365!
Back to where we were really; not great, clean sheet, nick a goal.So glad we backed up the Leicester gift with 4 points.A win on Tuesday and we’re nearly there!
Get. In. There!4 -
Go on Sorba Thomas. Do that silly little squiggly dance ya prick20

Great start, should’ve been 2 up early, got away with one when JRS hit the bar and it was a pretty awful watch until TC did the business! It’s not pretty but it’s effective and it’s highly likely to achieve our only target this year!
We are staying up!!!
Fair play to NJ for working it out and turning the tide two seasons in a row! Kaminsky, Jones, Bell, Clark, Coady, Doc, Dykes & Godden all have a bit of nous about them. Credit where it’s due.
He cares and he has passion which we really needed but his antics are bit much, screaming “f**k off, w**kers” like that just lacks professionalism.
3 points, brilliant! Bring on Pompey!1 -
No not connect 4 - would always have to be a 5 at the back surely?Uboat said:Imagine living with Nathan Jones. I bet he can’t even win a game of Connect 4 without losing his shit.8 -

Excellent, season defining (hopefully) win.
I’m so happy for TC and the players, management and fans.
I’m very confident we’ll be ok.11 -
I remember when it was called off I said to my brother that's not the worst thing in the world that could happen to us (of course bad circumstances I know) but for the team we had injuries and getting them back would give us a better chance.I really hope we go at them after tonight.mayoboy said:This is the starting team that played against Portsmouth a few weeks backKaminski, Gillesphey, Jones, Ramsay, Coventry, Hermandez, Bree, Anderson, Carey, Campbell, Olaofe And this is the team that will probably play against Portsmouth on the 17thKaminski, Bell, Jones, Ramsay, Chambers, Docherty, Coady, Clarke, Carey, Godden, DykesSomehow in the middle of the season we have completely changed the team, regained confidence and momentum and playing some nice attacking football.Keep Bell fit and playing Campbell, Dykes, Kelman and Godden up front and we should be OK.0 -
Hey Stoke City fans.
You must be going potty after that result.
You've been smashed, your defence was crocked.
Good luck getting the pieces back together.
Cracking performance.

We make scoring goals sometimes look like a delicacy we should only have as an occasional treat, but my god does that feel good. First win against 11 men in 12 games.Stoke are on a terrible run, not won in 7, load of injuries and to top it all their best player Lawal went off injured first half.It wasn’t pretty but we kept going and found a way.Clarke has proven a real upgrade on Bree. Bell and Chambers give us much better balance with a solid left (though Chambers levels def dropped as the 2nd half progressed). Dykes has given us great honest commitment up top. Clear strengthening of the team. Midfield 3 I still think is something that could be better, and Ramsey isn’t as consistently reliable at this stage that I thought he would be, but we took a big step tonight.I’m not relaxing just yet. After 30 games in 2020 we were 9 points clear of relegation and we know how that ended. Anything can happen still. But I’ll wake up a lot more confident tomorrow morning than I was this morning

What sort of reception did Jesu Rak Saki get from our supporters, booed or clapped?0

Clapped off. Even his old chant came out when he missed on purpose.sillav nitram said:What sort of reception did Jesu Rak Saki get from our supporters, booed or clapped?31 -
NJ's reaction was a bit ridiculous though. It was hardly unusual abuse, or anything unacceptable.SteveACS said:Football supporters...

Snd then get upset when he tells the to "f*ck off"...
Quite bizarre to shout at the away fans, then virtually storm off the pitch, instead of walking slowly around the pitch with the players to celebrate the victory.

TC is not a LWB - pleased that he wasn't wasted in that position tonight. Our only player with any flair.
We ground out a win and third clean sheet since Millwall...4 -
Not too sure on the whole but the woman behind me spun her rattle around and shouted take me home rak-sakyi so must have been positive.sillav nitram said:What sort of reception did Jesu Rak Saki get from our supporters, booed or clapped?4 -
massive win and safety is within touching distance.
I've liked the look of Dykes since day one and as with most striker assessments i'm spot on , proper grafter with a brain .
92% safety
8% Big R5
