The good and the bad from him tonight. He did scare their defence a few times, but also got into 3 really, really good positions and each time failed to find the killer pass/shot. I'm a big fan and defender of him, but I'm also not blind to why he frustrates some folks as much as he does.

Overall, though, he has been, arguably, the player in our team who has looked the most likely to make things happen the most often. It needs to result in concrete end product more often for him to progress in his career, but, in the meantime, at least it bloody might result in something! The only other one in the same conversation is Carey and he is just as hot and cold and prone to taking the wrong option. Maybe Apter could have been in there too, but he didn't get the minutes and is gone now, for whatever reason.

I think TC has to be on the pitch in that left wing/wide forward role as much as possible because any combination of Leaburn/Dykes/Godden/Kelman is just not going to cut it. they all have their strengths and weaknesses and have had their moments but, currently, none of them look like they are going to consistently frighten a Championship defence in the way TC does when he is running at players.

I think if we had started TC with either dykes or leaburn we win that yesterday. Gives us an out ball and something high up the park for their defence to focus on. With chambers and TC floating around on the left bit should create some space for Clarke or fevrier when he comes on.
  • Not his best performance last night at all. But he showed more threat than any other player because he's easily our best attacking player..

I'm seeing people rate Dykes and just want to headbutt a wall.

Leaburn and TC should be front two. Two players through the youth who we can root for.

Dykes is so much better than Leaburn currently.

Dykes has been here for 7 games has more assists than anyone in the team and is 4th for G/A behind Carey TC and funnily enough Bree. Questions over whether he should be here long term but I think he’s very hard to dislike at present

RONNIE HOW DO YOU THINK HE DID TONIGHT?

    Ronnie?

    Ronnieeeeeeee....
He done ok gave him a 7 .. cause he did not have to worry about defending …. the goal was good reading of the situation but his first touch was awful which actually worked in his favour as took the goal well …. but still along way off being a starter and still very much still in the minus box over the FULL season so far

We look so one dimensional without a runner next to Dykes. I thought it would've made sense to go with Godden (if fit) last night, but since he wasn't it should've been TC. I think he should be starting most games at home from here on out.

For what it's worth, I would love Leaburn and TC to start together but at this stage in the season I think Dykes makes the most sense, with Leaburn a good option off the bench. I was really unsure on Dykes before he arrived and unimpressed after the first game or two. He is not my favourite type of player to watch but it is hard to argue about his impact. The constant work rate in the air and off the ball are a huge benefit to us.

I was hopeful the big man/big man combo would work after Leicester, they were only a man down because they had two big men to look after. That’s now looking like it might be the exception rather than the pattern. It works when Dykes is flicking on for Leaburn but Dykes doesn’t read Leaburn’s flick ons well enough so they get a bit wasted. They also stayed too central which meant the wing backs were easy to deal with. Either one with TC would have been much more dangerous from the start
  • TC is our only flair player and without him in the side we have nobody who can run with the ball.
Can see him leaving in the summer...

I don’t think we would have.

Reminds me of how people felt about Jerome Thomas in the Prem days. Obviously really good but demeanour, inconsistency just frustrates.

Demeanour? Is that how you judge players?

I thought he was one of our most effective players, shame he couldn't keep that shot down as that's the kind of chance that can define a player, but he was still holding a bunch of carrots from trying to coax all the other donkeys on the pitch.

My major gripe with him is his lack of tackling or heading.I saw him bottle 2 or 3 50/50 or even 60/40 balls in his favour last night.

Nope. But to say that a person's demeanour in any walk of life does not affect how people perceive them is naïve. If you don't look bothered and don't put in a decent level of performance then you'll get criticised.

He wasn't even close to being at fault for yesterday's performance and only his and Kaminski's threads have been resurrected. He's a lightning rod for any criticism instead of the individuals actually at fault

He’s beyond terrible with anything over waist height and you can see him crumble as the ball travels to him in the air and he realises he can’t trap it. Under waist height he’s quite possibly our best player.

I was going to mention the bottling, but held back because as soon as it’s mentioned certain fans start making excuses for it, but yes he did a couple of times.

He did also go for one headed ball that he previously might have shirked, pretty sure it set up a counter attack too. Not saying he can avoid criticism for some of his bravery but it doesn't get noticed when he is brave

But the whole team were  atrocious and he was part of that, the only one that came on and did better than anyone else was Fevrier.

Sure but why haven't the Conor Coventry, Luke Berry and Charlie Kelman threads been resurrected? Coventry came on at half time and was probably at fault for their man getting a shot away for the third goal but it hasn't been brought up

You clearly haven't been watching the games. Dykes has been excellent for the most part.

They were all awful, I’d say because TC is the one people expect more from as he has shown on occasion he can effect a game but quite often disappoints. I know it’s a different level, but look at the pelters Mo salah has been getting this season after being so good before, it’s the expectation i d say, and I’m not personally buying into his age as I’ve said before he has a lot of games behind him and players his age for other clubs perform with consistency. We will forever go around in circles with TC I’m afraid, especially the next time he scores, because he will be wonderful again.

Campbell will play in the Premier League i reckon. Won't be with us. He's a winger with pace and skill and our best chance of staying up

Considering Rak Sakyi has struggled to make it in the Prem, and he is twice the player TC is, I doubt it.
