Think we need to change things now. Buttler is wasting the power play because he's not even getting Salt on strike. Open with Banton and drop Buttler down the order so he can just go in and "see ball, hit ball".3

If Kumar Sangakkara can sit in the commentary box and point out Buttler’s technical issues, and suggest then a solution, WTF are the England coaches doing? They are just mates on a jolly aren’t they.Addick Addict said:I've never seen Buttler so out of touch. He can't lay bat on the ball and even when he gets a full bunger, he's finding the sweeper. Seven singles and six dots from 13 balls in the power play to date.2 -
I would put Duckett to open. Drop Butler. Salt can keep wicket.2

The planting of the foot and then letting the hands do the work is pretty basic but, sometimes, batters just can't shift that technical issue once it becomes intrenched and it can take time to do so. That said, I know of one England batter (and I'm not going to name him) who steadfastly refuses to resolve his obvious flaws. In his case I believe that this is because he's always had them and knows he cannot change.Tutt-Tutt said:

I would too but I do not believe that there is and chance that this regime will do so. Buttler, for one, will want to carry on regardless and use it as a warm up for the IPL to follow rather than go in cold and run the risk of not being picked in that comp.raytreacy said:I would put Duckett to open. Curran the latest to go.
Salt is 62* off 39 and the rest of the side has managed 42-5 off 430 -

Big pressure on Jacks now0
-
Falling to pieces. Brainless batting again.
Butler is on borrowed time surely. So out of form1 -
Predictable shambles probably the best way to describe this0
-
We are crumbling as per usual. We do like a collapse. 135-9 on a good batting pitch. Absolute shite.0
-
We aren’t even going to last the whole innings0
-
146-9 (20)
One can't tell how bad a total that is until Sri Lanka bat on it. Archer and Rashid will need to be at their best though.1 -
20/30 runs short of par.0
-
Big wicket - good start tbf.0
-
Excellent start 20-2 (3.3)0

Hmmm. Maybe this pitch isn’t as good as the commentators thought. 20-21

-
A third wicket for Jacks
34-50 -
Imagine how badly we’d have battered Australia3
-
Sri Lanka imploding here.
Rashid and Dawson haven’t even had a bowl yet.0 -
England's player of the tournament so far gets a third wicket much to Addick Addicts amusement.2
