How the hell is Curran going to end up with one unbowled over?0

A lot glum faces in the packed cafés in town squares across the nation of Italy this afternoon. They'll probably have a day of mourning tomorrow.6

Two groups of 4 made up of the top 2 from the previous phase. Each team will, therefore, play 3 games and the top 2 from there will make the semis.blackpool72 said:

Who is likely to be in our group? Australia, NZ and one other?Addick Addict said:

Renshaw, who has scored double the number of runs (102) of any other Aussie to date in the comp, has been dropped against Sri Lanka in order to accommodate Marsh. No Smith either.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field.0 -

ICC had pre-seeded 8 teams as per T20I rankings at the start of the World Cup (2 from each group). Australia, India, South Africa, and the West Indies are in Group 1, while Group 2 has England, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
For the Super 8 stage, the pre-seedings are:
- Group1: India as X1. Australia X2, West Indies X3, South Africa X4
- Group 2: England as Y1, New Zealand Y2, Pakistan Y3, Sri Lanka Y4
It does not matter how they qualified from their initial group; if these pre-seeded teams made it into the Super 8, they will be allotted to the predetermined groups.
If one of the pre-seeded teams is eliminated, the unseeded team that replaces them will take over that team's seeding and spot in the Super 8 group. For example, if the USA progresses as the second team from Group A instead of Pakistan or India, they will take Pakistan or India's slot in Group 2 or Group 1, respectively.

Of course, the fact that Group 1 is being played in India and Group 2 in Sri Lanka is purely for political reasons. The advantage we have is playing that pre-tournament series against Sri Lanka on wickets that will be totally different to the ones in India.1

Nissanka dropped a skier an over or so before but has just taken an unbelievable mid-air catch2 -
Not really seen much of this tournament but surely that has to be the best catch so far.Addick Addict said:WOW!!! Just WOW!!!

There's been a couple of great catches but after dropping one just an over before and then coming out with that stunner I would say that's probably the best so far

Aussies all out for 181.0

This match has to be a lesson for us when we play here. The pitch has got progressively harder to bat on especially with the ball going softer. Australia managed 182 all out (20) and this would be a record chase if Sri Lanka managed that. However, the Aussies were 110-2 off 10 overs and only managed 72-8 in the second half.2

Sri Lanka need 35 from 25....0

Sri Lanka closing in on this. 31 needed from 4 overs0
