My hierarchy of international support is;
England. Born here and been here most of my life.
Wales. Welsh mother.
Ireland. Irish wife. Who can’t understand me supporting Wales v Ireland when “Ireland has done so much for you”.4 -

Rangers consider themselves British, not Scottish. You’ll find most Rangers fans don’t actively watch the Scotland national team.Curb_It said:
But which English people do you know that do that? Surely they must have Scottish heritage to support another nationality?palarsehater said:Never understand English folk who follow England for football and Scotland for rugby, I’m half Scottish myself but just seems strange to me.
I don’t understand English people that support Rangers… I think that’s weird when the Scots allegedly hate the English.
Ive said this before back in the day. I sat next to some Rangers fans in the middle of the night when I was living in Hong Kong, the night Becks got sent off in 98. They were friends of mine, Glaswegians . Their behaviour annoyed the shit out of every England fan there. They were proper Scots, Rangers fans and they weren’t supporting England. I don’t think you can say most Rangers fans don’t support Scotland. I’d be surprised.1 -
I would say a lot of Rangers fans obviously support Scotland but there will be significant number who support England.
There was info released a few years ago that showed Rangers fans had the largest % of Scotland Supporters' Club members. Not sure if it's changed since though.0 -
my md and 3 engineers are all rangers fans, that's all the rangers fans I know and they all couldn't give a flying about the Scotland national team, that's what I based my assumption on.Curb_It said:palarsehater said:

Most of the Celtic fans probably support Ireland rather than ScotlandChris_from_Sidcup said:I would say a lot of Rangers fans obviously support Scotland but there will be significant number who support England.

Many absolutely do. I have family who are some of them. A number of years back I was in a Celtic pub in Glasgow when there were Ireland and Scotland games on different channels at the same time. They watched the Ireland game and had absolutely no interest in the Scottish one. They even had two TV's capable of showing both games but both had Ireland on. Bizarre.Chaz Hill said:

A good performance from the boys in green, shame that their first game was away to France, had it been later in the tournament, we might have given them a game.2

Ireland played well but England, once again, were poor.0

There are some ludicrous sweeping generalisations on this thread. Real life’s a bit more complicated.Great results today for Ireland and Scotland.1

George Ford had another poor game. Two penalties kicked dead, lots of poor decision making and if we ate going to kick we need to have players who are going to win the ball in the air sometimes0
-
Probably not the best thing to say, when you’ve just beaten Wales, who haven’t won a 6 nations game in years.EugenesAxe said:

As good as Ireland were good…..we were equally pathetic.
Two games running now, our mistakes have been statistically appalling….particularly handling.🥺2 -
I’m still smiling 😊
Especially after Robert and Stuart played so well.
A very happy Ulster girl 💚
Still can’t see anyone beating France 🙄1 -
Whatever they'd rolled in must have rubbed off on Englandguinnessaddick said:

The trophy has been involved in a fire in a vehicle in Ireland, sure it’s grand and will clean up.1 -
Team for Italy (England that is) has many changes from the side that surrendered to The Scots and the Irish
Borthwick has selected a very attacking set of backs. BUT then of course he drops Van Poortvliet, the attack minded scrum half who came on and did pretty well for the injured Mitchell against Ireland, instead we have Spencer, the Bath s/half who is better as a defensive replacement when the side are (it does happen) leading comfortably with Van P on the bench
Muddled thinking Steve.
Also, several forwards are lucky to stay i m o
Itoje has been very poor this season. The much vaunted Earl, the media's darling is a powerful runner who I have yet to see actually pass the ball, and Curry are surely due for a 'rest'. Itoje is in and the powerhouse Chessum is out, Coles his replacement at lock should have been selected on the blindside at No 6 with a first cap for Fisilau, the Exeter No8 and Pollock at 7.
Italy are much improved this season, but England will be favourites for this. Unfortunately, Borthwick has i m o lost the opportunity to experiment with his tired, stale looking forward pack as well as with the backs
As ever .. we will see0
