Missed the build up play to our goal (looked up when Dykes got through) because, frankly, doing some work email was much more interesting.
That was Bristol Rovers away last year level of awfulness. We might stay up, and being ugly might be worth it.

What I saw was a terrible low standard of football where WBA were bereft of confidence and didn't know how to win despite having a few players who were good on the ball.
I saw Charlton have two attacks with skill which resulted in Carey getting a shot on target in the 1st half and Ramsay pushing forward and hitting a sweet pass with a good duck assist by Fevrier ! with Dykes finishing with aplomb.
The irony is both Dykes and Leaburn can play on the ground but they consistently get balls in the air punted from the back where they get clattered but refs give decisions the other way !
I really thought Apter, Kelman and Knibbs were going to play a big part this season and I'm struggling with this style where you don't attack a team low on confidence.
Am I/we wrong to want to see our Championship team capable of making some passes on the ground? We can do it but choose Option A: the punt aimed in the air which has a low percentage of success.
No surprise we are the lowest scorers away from home in the 2nd tier.
It was a point but it could've been so much more with a positive attitude by Nathan.

Should have been addressed in January. It’s been an open sore ever since Nathan Jones took over but he won’t look at it for some bizarre reason. On the face of it, it was a good defensive display once again.
But how can it be when:
1. we gave away a soft goal at a key moment, seconds before half time;
2. they had two really good chances right at the end that they should have taken;
3. we invite pressure by our a combination of our dreadful passing, poor ball control and our insistence in punting the ball long; and
4. we have a complete lack of attacking ambition (if the ball is in their half it can't be in our net at the same time)?

Having a small budget, compared to others, makes life difficult but we can find players to fill gaps and bank those who are up to it. We also have another season of young developing players so there could be a scenario where we are stronger. Also, we identified Sichenje and surely abroad is where the value is and maybe there are a few more on the list.
Back to now, I hope we don't see Dykes playing with Leaburn again. They don't play off each other and are an invitation to lob the ball aimlessly forward. I thought Leaburn did well in the first half, especially defensively but he was criminally isolated. Dykes works his socks off and we should give him an hour and he knows he can put in a games worth of effort in that hour and Leaburn comes on against tiring defenders. Coady has worked in games this season but didn't work yesterday.0 -

We won’t get away (if we do) of setting up like we currently do again next season. Three relegation slots this season with Wednesday relegated months ago. A poor Oxford and I think a few surprise teams struggling. Next year’s Championship will be a much tougher proposition. Setting up every week to keep a po8nt and nick something will eventually relegate us.The Red Robin said:

Its the inability to string more than a couple of passes together and the tactic of letting the other team, especially a team that really was there for the taking, dominate for the whole game that worries me.
Its ok thinking it doesn't matter how we stay up but the reality is we do need to win a few games to do that and that is a hard task if you keep sacrificing possession and aimlessly hoof the the ball to players who cannot be expected to do much unsupported. Last night we played a very poor team, hopefully they and those below us will remain poor teams. We conceded a goal deep into added time last night but it wasn't really surprising, it didn't surprise me last Saturday, there is a feeling that its always coming.
Tough games come thick and fast in this division, 3 days time we will be playing a team that is playing well, full of confidence and with good players. If we concede possession like we did last night or just pump the ball forward long for a front player in the hope the defenders make mistakes we will be in for a difficult game. I realise we have one of the cheapest teams and we are maybe fortunate to be playing in a higher division this year but we have to compete, if not through talent it has to be another way, maybe don't give the ball away so easily. Hope the other team screw up is not a tactic.4 -

I won't overstate this, as obviously the performance was rubbish, but:
That's consecutive away games, four days apart, where we've gone 1-0 down and fought back to draw. That's... not nothing. It shows we have more resilience now than we have had at certain points this season. The players we signed in January - particularly the Championship nous of Dykes, Coady and Clarke - have helped us stay in games, meaning all we need is one moment of quality to get a point. As long as we can keep doing that for the rest of the season, that's job done.23 -

Norwich are irrelevant. They are miles better than the rest, and were ranked 25-1 to relegation after Saturdays games, Vs us 6-1 relegation, despite us being a point ahead of them on same games played.ForeverAddickted said:

Took us 5 hours to get back last night, M42, M40 and M25 were closed/lanes shut at certain points. Forced us down the M11 into the effing ULEZ- at least we didn’t lose to compound our misery !! Great to meet and chat to some of you - @Braziliance !1
