Kneeling on my Subbeuteo players!
Like many I had several Subbeuteo teams the pride of which were CAFC who I painted myself with Airfix paints.
Charlton always won - never lost! I had my own league tables and Charlton were always top and always win the FA Cup.
I used to hate it when they got knelt on and could never be repaired very well. A bit like Lloyd Jones being out for the rest of the season.
I bought online, at great expense some old Subbuteo stuff for my grand-kids a few weeks ago.
I went round there recently ready to thrash them (I was my primary school Subbeuteo champion in 1969).
I discovered that in no time at all half the players were already bent and broken and one goal had been broken in half on the crossbar.
Oh woe is me. The pain and disappointment is unbearable.1 -
I had Subbeuteo, all the stands, floodlights, advertising, individual crowd members, the whole lot. It took so long to set up by the time it come to play I couldn’t be bothered. I just looked at how beautiful it was.5

I’ve still got all mine, loads of teams, grandstand, terracing, floodlights and scoreboards etc. My old man stuck the pitch on a board which made playing a lot easier. my Dad nailed my pitch to some hardboard, so it was always pristine and crease free.
I too had stands, floodlights, crowds, scoreboards, trophies etc0 -
