Think it's fair to say Mercedes are ahead and Verstappen is done as a top tier driver

Dominate from Mercedes!! - Back to the ridiculous days with them
That smile from Toto at the end of Q1

Couple of decent races in F3 and F2, with Prema now praying that the races in Bahrain / Jeddah get cancelled no doubt - Just stupid from Wharton / Sharp to end up in that position, and ruined us of a great race that was forming, even without DRS - Shame as well that F3 didnt have the DRS, as F2 showed how much better it would have been.
Solid start from Slater who I see having to deal with Ugochukwu and Nael for the majority of the season

Prema with their financial issues don't need Wharton and Sharp doing that and I have Sharp as a title contender 😅😅

Gonna be a very boring season if that's how dominant Mercedes will be every qualifying.

Let's hope the compression changes nerf their engine and bring them all closer together ASAP, Toto and George are an incredibly unlikeable pair, almost on Horner/Max levels

Yeah Merc being so far in advance made that a bit of a flat session given all the build up excitement.

Given Hadjar’s performance. Would have been interesting to see how close Max could have got:

Wonder what Lewis is thinking about his move away from Mercedes after today’s qualification results?

Dont think it ever really mattered; Toto wanted Antonelli in there, as he's always been so consious of Red Bull beating him to Verstappen - If Lewis hadn't moved on, I think he would have been replaced
Best Lewis could have hoped for, was that Williams would have taken Kimi, the way they took Russell, but they clearly dont want to be seen as a Mercedes Second Team anymore (understandable) so was never an option

I don't think that they would ever have replaced Lewis. The problem was that they never listened to Lewis, when it was clear that they were going down the wrong route with the car post-2021 and he got frustrated.

Knowing Lewis he's probably just glad the clowns in red have kind of got it together so far for these regs, and I say that as a huge Ferrari fan

One of the only GPs of the year at a watchable time for me… 9pm start here.

    Intriguing opening few laps.

My 4:25 am brain is struggling to keep up with all of this.

Meanwhile Ferrari strategy, still being Ferrari strategy working things out as ever:

Ferrari choosing not to pit with the other leaders under VSC seems very Ferrari

If teams are going to one stop, the tyre offset may play into Ferrari’s hands later. Maybe. Or probably not and they’ve just Ferraried it up as usual.

Doesnt feel like the Ferrari's are gaining here... Despite the gaps across the field, the actual battles look great

Once again like last season... Pirelli have ultimately provided a tyre that doesnt fall apart quick enough
Enough with these guaranteed one stoppers

So Ferrari did fuck that up. No big surprise there, hamilton in particular who wanted to stop under VSC must be fuming.

No guarantee they would have done any better but theyd have been closer.

Great result for George, hopefully this'll be his year, he deserves it after just missing the might of the Mercedes from 2022 onwards, and seeing his F2 rival (Lando) win last year, that must have hurt.
Lovely result as well for Ollie and Arvid, all five Brits in the points

Yet he won driver of the day. 🙄
I really wish they’d stop doing this vote. Utterly meaningless.

Promising. I have to say I am a bit confused with all the harvesting etc but fairly interesting never less. Well done Lindblad, good debut and outdrove his team mate. Cant see how Verstappen won the DotD, weird that is to say strange.
