POST-MATCH THREAD: Charlton Athletic v Birmingham: Saturday 7th March 2026: KO 15:00

11AM kick off my end, had a big day at horse racing lined up, full day out etc, so really was intent on not letting Charlton ruin my weekend, managed to get the Mrs to leave just as FT whistle went, haven’t come down off cloud nine since. Genuinely, what a massive win that was.

From what I remember, that's how they played last season too. They achieved record League One points without playing beautiful football most of the time.

I was listening to the Birmingham commentary. They were very kind to that idiot Priska, and at the end they were referring to Charlton employing the dark arts to win, which given some of their antics, was a very strange take. Just made the win sweeter.

I have a friend who is a Pompey fan and two who are Derby fans - all of them said that we are the dirtiest team they have played this season. I was gob-smacked, believing that we are a generally honest and fair team and that it's other teams who are continually fouling us and getting away with it. It goes to show how biased football supporters are.

In this table of the most fouls committed per game, we are 4th. So yes we are quite dirty. However as Derby are 3rd, the Derby fans are in no position to talk

Similarly for yellow cards, we're 3rd and Derby are 2nd!

What has been impressive though, is that despite all the yellows, we've only picked up one red.

I've always thought that Lloyd Jones is very good at not getting a 2nd yellow when he's already been booked !

Well deserved win ,I dont think Mannion had shot to save,despite all the Brum possession,they never looked like scoring.Just shows that money does not always win games,they had Stansfield and That idiot Priske probably 15 m between them and couldnt raise one effort on goal of note. We Had Dykes,Leaburn and Kelman ,and where far more dangerous.Really think next season,assuming we stay up.could be a blinder,we have a young side ,they will benefit greatly from this year .

Doubtful. Just one outcome that was possible but very unlikely IMO - no one can say with authority what would have happened. I think he wasted our time - didn’t resolve the Valley issue, mismanaged the club, treated people badly and had to be bailed out himself.

So, everything was just peachy was it, appreciate your in the know more than any of us Airman, and appreciate your words generally, but the guy did save us from Southall & Co and the blind alley we were heading down...didn't he...🤷‍♂️

Southall had lost control when Sandgaard turned up. The only place the people in charge were heading was administration, which would have forced Duchatelet to the table. There were other people out there with very significant assets (including US based) who would have picked it up and could have blown RD away. We don’t know what that ownership or any other would have looked like and we never will. We just know what happened and that TS is in prison.
