Hats off to Doc as well. Not been his biggest fan (at this level) but recently he has been class/instrumental. Gives his all.
He was quality tonight. I was a bit worried when he went off. Thought Carey would go off for Jones.

I did not watch the game have been out, so very happy with 3pts, but the BBC stats are shocking. They had 34 shots to our 5, they had 277 successful passes in the final third to our 24, they won 76.9% of tackles to our 53.4%, and so on.
We can not expect to win many more games if keep to stats like that. the one are I guess Borough were useless at was hit the goal.
Context though - we were playing a top side, it's not like we're beating Sheff Wed with 22 per cent of the ball

Before tonight we were top of the relegation league. Now we are second from
bottom of the mid table league

what a great season we are having

    Tottenham away ole ole
  • Truly one of the most amazing games I have ever seen in the 50 years plus I have been watching Charlton!

Middlesbrough had nearly 80% possession, 34 shots and more or less total domination of the ball. How on earth did we not concede?

I'll answer that. An amazing defensive display by all concerned. And a good bit of luck!

Huge praise to NJ tonight (and I've not always said that!) His tactics were spot on tonight and his substitutions timed to perfection.

I'm still in shock. And going to be in that condition for the rest of the night!

    But wow, what a result!

Crazy how tight the rest of the Division is now, two wins with results going our way, and suddenly we're potentially 9th, as would argue that everyone from Watford down is just as inconsistent as ourselves now

In truth Kelman should have scored in the first half and most of their chances were not that great.
  • I am out from behind the sofa!
Well how wrong could I be?
    What do I know?
Nathan Jones you are a hero.
Great win - great season. Great bunch of players. SO proud of the club. Almost there now........

How fit is Carey by the way. We must have covered so much ground off the ball today, yet he was still sprinting up and down the pitch right at the end.

If you can overlook the primitive English this is quite funny at times:

Maybe you should have watched it. We defended brilliantly.

Just enjoy the win, bloody hell.

He wasn’t alone pre-match to be fair.

Couldn’t watch this one but never in my wildest did I think we’d get three points. Fantastic result given the changes made by Jones. If there is a downside it’s that we’ve possibly promoted Millwall.
  • If there’s such a thing as beautiful defending that was it. That must have been exhausting to keep chasing but everyone played their part in one of the results of the season. Definitely prefer Mannion in goal. Gives a calm assurance to the defence & claims the ball in the air like a seasoned keeper.
I think Boro need a bit of practice on their heading though! Diabolical attempts !

No, but he has predicted us returning to league one because nobody listens to his advice

Absolutely unbelievable result, best defensive display I can remember from us. Thing is after all boroughs huff and puff we had the two best chances of the game.

Brilliant, just brilliant!!! My god, that was incredible.

I almost turned the 330am alarm off, thinking we'd lose this, I'll have a word with myself regarding my lack of faith!

There's many ways to win a game of footy. Boro moves the ball so well, and attack with quality, but defense wins games too.

When teams are faced with such a inpenetrable wall, including the fact that this wall was thrown together, none of our usual starting 3 in the back line, we've always a chance. And my god we took it!!

Absolutely buzzing, so so proud of these warriors.

Well done the travelling fans, you were loud all game, you deserved that win.

    Wow, just wow.

    UTA!!!!!!

Best result of the season - brilliant defensive performance.

That will hopefully keep us in the division

I have one complaint about TC, who should have done much better when he came on to help the defence.

I was screaming at the TV for that last few minutes

NJ needs to have a word with him, but that aside, I am happy.
I would bet TC was told to just hold his position but agree we could have seen a bit more urgency from him on the counter. We’re desperate for a bit of pace upfront sometimes. I’m sure Kelman looked a lot quicker at Orient.
Maybe he was playing to instructions, but a few times, near our box, he just stood and watched. That is nowhere near good enough for a player of his ability and pace. It’s almost as if he was not interested. He could have been injured, but it did not look that way.

Charlie needs to shed a few pounds.

Less of the negative as we were brilliant.

They had 77% possession and 34 shots, but apart from a superb tip into the bar, the others saves by Mannion were routine. He has to keep his place as he commanded the box.

    Unbelievable win.

If Jones gets us anywhere near top half he deserves the West Stand.

Surprised its not been mentioned, but thats the first time we've won back to back games since October
Ironically the second win was the 3-0 victory at Portman Road
