NJ might be the only one that would pick Bree over Clarke.

Hopefully Southampton keep Bree and we can sign Clarke permanently.

Bree is a great championship wingback... Clarke is better and is perfect for a Nathan Jones team, if Ipswich don't go up I think they'll want him as a squad player/will cost a big fee

Overall I thought Bree was no more than a little better than average for us. He felt like a loan player, Clarke doesn't.
Would love to sign Clarke or both but would be slightly disappointed if we only got Bree.

I much prefer Clarke. He's twice the athlete that Bree is. He's a stronger defender and that bullet throw... Wow. He offers us width and balance and he gets up and down the line all day.

The most attractive thing about Bree was his set pieces and by the end they were pretty bad. Strangely, our corners seem to have improved since he left.

Bree is a wingback and better getting forward but Clarke is a better all round player.  He is more of a traditional fullback but allows Carey more freedom to push forward in front of him

I see it more the other way around, Clarke looks quicker and more powerful to me, gets up and down the pitch well and even into the box, just a shame he’s not taken one or two of the good chances he’s had.

Bree had his moments getting forward, but I’d like more pace and energy out there than he offers.

Can’t find it anywhere but someone said Clarke reminds them of Danny Mills. Mills is at the Kassam to watch his son Stanley but primarily to learn a thing or two from Clarkey

The pace and strength today to chase back and out strength Emaku (the player who had Ramsay on toast earlier in the season) was unreal. Fingers crossed we have him next season.

Great player. Worth paying a fee for. Lets hope Ipswich go up instead of the Spanners and then Ipswich will take the option to extend his contract so they can sell him. If they do he is certainly worth what we paid to get the BFK from Serbia.

100%. I'd like to think we could get him for around 2-2.5m and for his age and ability i think that would be money very well spent.

One thing that might also be in our favour is that he's going out with a girl who used to be on Love Island and lives in London, so he's likely to want to stay in and around the area.

I think the early goals are easy to remember but Bree had some poor games after that .  Clarke has been consistently very solid

Please sign him!! He reminds of Luke Young all those years back. Solid 7-8 every week!

Love to sign him, but we need Ipswich to go up I reckon for that to happen

I’d be shocked if Ipswich would want that much for someone with a year left on his deal and not likely to be in their plans

They've been happy to loan him out two seasons in a row now too.

Perhaps not but he's only 25 and there might be other clubs interested in him as I'm sure his performances aren't going unnoticed. If we can get him for less than 2m then great.

I definitely get the comparison to Danny mills, Clarke feels like a Charlton player like mills did, I’ve said it before but Clarkes attitude has been fantastic for a loan signing, he’s improved game by game. If we can get out summer business on point like we seem to have in January things could be quite interesting next season.

“What advice would you give a Charlton academy player?”

Harry Clarke: “Don’t go to Millwall”

    What a guy

Looks to be a lot of players on the grass and close.

After the international break it would be great to have Godden and Knibbs back. And then we can look forward to a fully fit Edwards for the start of next season

They’ll want as much as possible, won’t they. If it turns out us and several other clubs want him, then the fee is likely to increase even more.

Whether they'd actually get it is another thing entirely....

If Ipswich have no intention of using Clarke than his wages off the bill automatically become a transfer fee because wages are only justifiable if you plan to use the player at some point.

Let’s say Clarke is on 15k a week which is rumoured, 15k off the bill equates to 780k a year. Even if we went to Ipswich we will give you 750k that + his wages gone automatically make it a 1.5M deal.

Obviously his fee will be driven up if there’s multiple club interest, but the pressure is on Ipswich to offload because they’re losing value by the week without any benefit of keeping him around very similar with what we had to do with Terry Taylor.

Yes, we all like him but I can probably see why club's have played him at RB and CB predominantly.

He's fluffed a lot of chances now in front of goal and showing that if you keep getting them, they won't just automatically "go in soon".
