In say the last 15 years, where do people think Jones ranks in terms of best players, I think for me he’s in the top 5.
I’d say best defender we’ve had at the club. Personally would put Coquelin, Cullen, Gallagher, Stephens, Gudmundsson Lookman Kermogant, Taylor, above him but comfortably top 10.

If it’s the last 15 years, then he’s number 1 by some distance. He’s a talisman and is as important to our defence as Yann was to our attack.
Yeah that’s about the right of it I think. Cases can be made for Yann and Jacko as well I think. For me Jacko then Jones
Didn’t realise this wasn’t only talking about defenders, in that case it’s definitely Yann and Jacko ahead for me.

Even when he’s not keeping clean sheets he’s winning pens to save the game this guy is a joke

And a very calm clearance off the line.

That was a great moment. Most defenders try to clear it before it bounces and mess it up

I so hope, one day, that we can get to the premier league one day, with Lloydy in our first team, nice guy, likes very strong aftershave.

No call up to Wales team for Lloyd but tbh happy as ut means he wont get injured.

If Wales reach the WC he'd be perfect for them, as they'll be under the cosh.

When you aren't as good as your opponents, you need your defenders to be able to defend and defend.

Think Bellamy is very rigid with the group he likes and realistically this isn't the time to be trying new players out anyway. Works for us though

I feel bad for him and it has nothing to do with ability because the defence they called up isn’t particularly super strong.

How does Dylan Lawlor get in the squad ahead of Lloyd Jones?

I know he played for them at youth level (before going on to represent England), but I can't see any reporting to suggest he has necessarily declared for Wales. You'd assume he would be keen to play at that level if possible.

Maybe it is Bellamy's stubbornness, but their squad looks incredibly thin at centre back so I can't understand why they wouldn't take a chance on someone who is near the top end for a lot of defensive statistics in the Championship when there are a couple of L1 defenders in there.

Definitely something not adding up which is to our benefit, but how jones isn’t at the very least in that squad is crazy. I mean wales will get knocked out anyway because they are shit.

I don’t think Jones is likely to ever play for them while Bellamy is in charge. Three centre backs in their latest squad: Rodon (Leeds first team), Cabango (Swansea captain) and Lawlor (Cardiff youth).

Lloyd is not the only Championship defender to have been omitted. There are questions over Andrew Hughes at Preston, Regan Poole at Portsmouth, Chris Mepham at West Brom and Ashley Phillips at Stoke.

We all believe Lloyd is better than each of these (perhaps apart from Rodon) but Bellamy doesn’t and that’s who’s opinion matters at the moment.

I think it’s probably for Lloyd to come out and say he wants to play for Wales (if he does) given that he rejected for them before.

The fact is, we don't know what's happened.

Maybe Bellamy has contacted Jones, and  he declined.

He made it clear in that interview with Charlotte, that he's English for football, and Welsh for rugby...

A short sighted decision in my view, but his decision to make...

Just as a point of note, Mepham is currently inured and Ashley Phillips is as yet undecided on which country he wants to play for.

My take is that if Lloyd wanted to play for Wales, we would know. With a Welsh gaffer and someone you could fairly describe as a bit passionate, it would not stay quiet for long.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Bellamy has a simple “you don’t turn your back on wales” policy and probably thinks jones falls foul of that.

Lloyd would accept a call up if given one that is for sure

Sounds as definite and sure as 'everybody who wants a ticket, will get a ticket'.

I respect players who only play for a national team they really care about, rather than just pretending to get a world cup spot.

Harvey Barnes could have played for Scotland this summer,  but chose not to.
