I hope that we dont give up on him so soon... But feels like Rob himself needs to put in a bit of work over the summer himself to ensure that.3

We didn’t persist with Ahadme ended up playing Godden instead and got promoted if a player isn’t cut out for it we shouldn’t persist we need to be ruthless and move on in order to progress.Apter clearly has potential but he’s not got the potential to make it as a championship wingback,1

Completely different situations though. Ahadme came to us off the back of a decent L1 season and then failed to do it again at that level. He didn't showcase any strengths for us; he didn't bully defenders or hold the ball up, he didn't have any pace, he didn't show any good finishing or clever movement. You could argue he didn't get to play in the team once we had some width and might have benefited from that but overall he didn't show us anything that would justify persisting with him while also indicating he's fairly injury prone. Apter is a different story; he joined us up a division from the one he'd played in previously and at the start of the season he showed some real attacking capability and initially covered the right hand side very effectively. The problem was that he lost interest in showing the concentration needed to play as a WB, stopped tracking his runners and started bottling out on the physical side of the game. Apter has shown he has the technical attributes to succeed at this level, the question just becomes whether he can force himself to learn the physical side of the game or not; is he willing to adapt his game to the system he's asked to play in or does he just want to do what he likes on the pitch? He'll be 23 soon, plenty of time for him to come back from this loan. put some work in over the summer and show Jones that he wants to start doing the nasty side of the game. No we have not .. If Apter or any of our other players can’t hack in our first and hopefully less successful championship season then they can’t be expected to improve enough therefore they will not be around for the next season’s upgrade - potentially our incoming upgrades will comprise better, bigger more experienced higher quality ex premier league players. We need at least 4 to cover all areas of the pitch. So
Apter, Oloafe, etc and many of this year’s squad will be sold or leave. Sorry but it’s true, sentiment doesn’t count - yes a few million £ lost but with Carey’s improvement (free transfer!) not to shabby in the end.1 -
He's only been on the bench the last two games, and been subbed on both times.
They've been starting Burstow and Dalby who are both strikers. Don't follow Bolton closely enough to know what's been going on there, but I'd guess that's a tactical or formation change.

He has been and when Burstow a striker who let’s not forget was deemed not good enough by a hull side who finished 21st last season, is starting out wide ahead of Apter it’s surely not just a Nathan Jones thingfenaddick said:

My best mate is a Bolton supporter.
He reckons that Apter hasn’t done much for them at all, as seems lightweight.
CBT has apparently been miles better.0 -
CBT has had to go back to Derby due to injury so some reshuffling might help Apter0

Apter is a traditional winger. End of. Steve Bruce (his then manager at Blackpool) said this when his transfer was going through.
We don't play with traditional wingers.
So unless we change systems (highly unlikely) then he doesn't fit in. No idea why we decided to buy him if we werent going to play to his strengths. No point trying to change him / play him as a wingback as therein madness lies.
Either change the system & play him as a winger or cut our losses and let him go.3 -
I suspect that with a few of the currently loaned out players, we'll be stuck with them next season, as they're not good enough for the Championship, but on too high wages to want to permanently move to a L1 side. NJ isn't going to change his style of play. We'll want better quality on the ball, but the workrate and defensive qualities are non negotiable.2 -
Sadly, Apter is looking like another Kirk. And grumpiness won't his relationship with Jones

The only player on loan we 100% wouldn’t be able to shift is Ahadme because of his quality in relation to his wages he’s proven to be a mid/Lower L1 striker at best. Every other player we could move on but that just comes down to how much of a hit we would be willing to take in regards to a transfer feekillerandflash said:
