West Ham Relegation Watch

I think West Ham will have just enough to stay up, Nuno is an excellent coach and has them better organised at the back now.
I think Forest will be the ones to go down, four managers in a season is pure mental and deserves relegation.3 -

Bad result for West Ham and particularly Spurs today. Both in real bother.2
-
Did you do that on purpose? Prophetic.golfaddick said:It's as you were at the bottom. Everyone drew so no hurt, no change.
I can see Sours beating Forest next week & that will be enough to keep them up (along with a few draws).

Looking at West Ham’s fixtures they play enough of the troubled teams to pick up points. Spurs on the other hand.4
-
They’ll be pleased we extended the window lay offs to 8th place regardless though.1

Brilliant watch.... My word West Ham really are in the smelly stuff.... From a very hard perspective and wanting our own club to survive another season you would want West ham to reluctantly get relegated despite the hilarity behind Spurs going down. There's no doubt the Hammers are in pole position to become the next Leicester. The other thing that stuck out to be was Westl Ham not owning they're own ground like us... Are we in any financial danger if we continue to keep paying rent to Douchbag?JustFloydRoad said:

If we are seen as being the club for Women (as well as Men) then that generates more revenue (for the club), which I can only see as a good thing. West Ham, as stated in the video, has to pay rent to Dagenham and Redbridge for their Women. We don't have any concerts and the functions we do have generates income for the club (I'd assume). The Valley is smaller than the London Stadium and it is hard to compare us with the West Ham situation, as the Valley is mostly used for Community style events/ charity matches. We don't need to look to East London about our financial stability- we can look into our own history for that. One thing that keeps this club grounded is the culture and the fan base, which again is very hard to see for West Ham.0 -

The Mayor of London has ststed that he hopes West Ham beat the drop over Spurs.2
-
Nothing much has changed for West Ham after their defeat, they still must win one game to have a chance of staying up.Hopefully the miracle of the penalty not being given for totteringham yesterday could be very significant.0

West Ham have to beat Newcastle on the Weekend, Chelsea as poor as they have been will be bang up for the spurs match and there fans will be at it.Going into the final day I can’t see spurs performing under pressure.1
-
It would be amazing if West ham can win at Newcastle and then Spurs lose at Chelsea in midweek.

Never thought I'd see West Ham and pay in the same sentence.JustFloydRoad said:peterreeves said:

That's exactly what I'm hoping forChris_from_Sidcup said:It would be amazing if West ham can win at Newcastle and then Spurs lose at Chelsea in midweek.5 -
Pity you didn’t provide his reasoning, or at least a link to one of the articles which explains his reasoning. It is of course the Stadium contract. The sub-Standard sort of explains it, but fails to explicitly remind us of the main problem, that their already pitifully tiny rent is halved on relegation.Dansk_Red said:The Mayor of London has ststed that he hopes West Ham beat the drop over Spurs.
I don’t think he should have said it. It’s not fair on Spurs fans, to hear that. Many of them (especially their Trust people who were the most effective in the Coalition agianst the deal) probably voted for him. He should have shut up until after its over, and then remind everybody that London also has to pay for the Hamsters uselessness.4 -
“Londoners should be hoping West Ham stay up as taxpayers will have to pay a further £2.5m for the London Stadium if they are relegated”PragueAddick said:

As much as I don’t rate him as Mayor it seems a fair thing to say.0 -

“Commercial revenues from the former Olympic stadium would be expected to fall if West Ham played in the lower league, while the GLA would incur higher stewarding costs, as there would be 23 home games in the Championship compared with 19 in the Premier League.
Under the 99-year deal signed by previous mayor Mr Johnson, West Ham pays £4.4m a year in rent, leaving the GLA to pick up the bill for stewarding and other costs associated with the stadium.”
the point is that West Ham will now pay only £2.2m in rent. That’s what annoyed me.

Why cost an extra £2.5 million ? Because of the extra games?0

The contract states a 50% reduction in rent, if relegated from the premier league, thanks to Boris and Brady.ct_addick said:Why cost an extra £2.5 million ? Because of the extra games?1 -
