Food caddy waste is typically sent to industrial Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants, where it is broken down by microorganisms in the absence of oxygen. This process creates renewable energy (biogas) to power homes and nutrient-rich bio-fertiliser for agricultural use.

Be realistic. 

If compostable food waste ends up in landfill then surely that's a good thing. The ground will contain a tad of beneficial nutrients for any future life there. Meanwhile we're given more plastic bins to tick a pointless box

Landfill produces methane through the anaerobic decomposition of organic waste—such as food, paper, and garden waste—by microorganisms in the absence of oxygen. As waste is compacted and buried, oxygen is depleted, allowing methanogenic bacteria to thrive and turn organic matter into biogas, consisting of roughly 50% methane and 50% carbon dioxide. That's why old landfill sites have to be carefully managed, to control the gases produced.

You are wrong - unless of course all local councils nationwide have got this wrong. 

It’s about encouraging recycling and encouraging the right behaviours.

Listening to Trump spout absolute nonsense, to an audience that claps and cheers every lie that pours from his mouth. 

Just visited my mate who has MND,and is totally dependant on others ,While I was there ,his two carers arrived,young ladies perhaps early 20s,who will clean him up and generally do their best to make his life more bearable.They come twice a day,always with a smile ,and do a job which most of us would not even consider.I dont know their salaries,but I bet not much above minimum wage.My blood boils when I think of all the lazy bastards who could,but cant be bothered to get a job and probably get more in benefits than these ladies.Now Tube drivers on 72 k a year are striking,makes me sick .

People who witness something good and inspiring but instead of taking pleasure from that inspiration, turn it into a complaint about something only vaguely related, then double down and turn it into a moan about something completely unrelated.

On a positive note, I think some of the work done in the care industry is incredible and I’m humbled by the dedication and empathy shown by some of the wonderful people providing care.

Very good comments ,I am old and cynical and was brought up in age where being out of work was pretty devastating.I just cannot stand the thought of millions of people ,making no effort to get work,being actively encouraged by the government to remain unemployed by paying them out of the taxes paid by people who spend their time caring for those who cannot care for themselves.

Its low paid, irregular and insecure work that is the problem. And then you have companies like Tesco (who made over £3bn of profit in the cost of living crisis) but has a section of its onboarding training that teaches its staff how to claim in work Universal Credit because pays its workers so low (and sets their hours deliberatly) so that they have to get the government to top it up. Effectively geting the government to subsidise its wage bill by hundreds of millions. Rather than just pay a living wage.

With over 7m people on NHS Waiting lists for treatment that must also be having an effect of this. Research shows that 6 months off work waiting for a treatment you have only a 50% chance of ever returning to work, once it hits a year that reduces to 10% chance. Fix that and a massive part of the problem goes away. Cuts to preventative health interventions, childrens health services, youth clubs etc. have all letd us to this point. Similar with cuts to childrens social care services - the link between that and being on benefits is incredibly strong.

As always these issues are much more complex and multi factorial than the simple narrative that is pushed. 

I think I'm well beyond annoyed with Donald Jennifer Trump.
