    Championship relegation mini-league:

Mind you, we'd be buggered if the league-placing tie-breaker included style points ...

Our three defeats against the relegation candidates were Pompey (twice) and Leicester (start of season before they imploded ... and we should have won that) and we've beaten each of the other sides barring Pompey.

There is only one thing certain.
There is no one thing certain (for the remaining 2 relegation places).

So many on here apparently know the remaining results - you are surely all millionaires?

I also don’t understand people saying we deserve to go down etc.

the idea is to be better than those teams around you and we’ve done that:

    Blackburn - taken 4 points
    WBA - taken 4 points
    Oxford - taken 4 points
Leicester - taken 3 points (should have been 6)
    Wednesday - taken 4 points

so none of the teams below us except a lucky Leicester could even beat us, says a lot about them all if we are so bad doesn’t it?
Pompey 0 though. That last minute winner at Fratton still rankles, as without that we'd be on 51, and Pompey 49. Such an unnecessary goal to concede.
And what about the last minute winner against WBA? It works both ways…

Am I the only one on here not stressing about the next three matches. Season is done. IMO, Oxford and Leicester will join Chef Wendy in League 1 next season

I'm not, trying to explain why but copping a deaf un.

    Oxford could win 2 & draw 1,

    We could lose 2 & draw 1

    WBA could lose 1 & draw 2

    Blackburn could draw 2

Only Oxford have to win games, the others could hold out for draws.and go above us, even if we nick a point from one of our 3 games.

Could come down to GD......or a WBA points deduction !

I'm a God damn stress riddled mess. I'll end up phoning in sick to work on Thursday if results go the wrong way

The funniest ending ever would be… we’ve got to better Ipswich’s score to go up automatically and you’ve got to beat Oxford’s to stay up. We only manage a draw v Oxford but you lose your game and Ipswich lose theirs. I think I’d avoid coming on here for a good year or so 🤣
This happens and I'm banning you for witchcraft

    Nope, I feel the same
  • I can certainly see Oxford getting 6 points.  From the highlights it looks like they were unlucky v Derby.  Playoff chasing results were very kind to us this weekend though with Wrexham still in with a real chance.. I think we need a Wrexham win massively and to hope we pick up a point v Hull (I see nothing v Ipswich).
They definetely weren't unlucky against Derby, they were shocking. Hope they play like that for the last 3 games

Good to hear. I only watched the highlights and they made it looks like Oxford missed some great chances and had an equal number of chances to score.  But appreciate they are only 2 mins of a 90 min game.

Without having watched all their games this season I could be wrong but I'd say there is a pretty high chance Oxford have been 'bang average' far more often than Wrexham have this season.

Oxford are one of the very few sides i've seen this season that i've actually thought 'this lot are worse than we are'.

They were terrible at the Valley and not much better in the return game. I think we had about 60% possession at their place which is unheard of for us.

Pretty much everyone has been saying all season that any side who finishes below Oxford will be relegated and that is going to be highly accurate.

Promises to be an interesting night

I was thinking, another reason I don’t like Wrexham, Ryan Reynolds is an absolutely tinpot actor.  Deadpool is a load of crap and outside of that he’s done nothing of note

    You owe us Reynolds

Blackburn don't exactly look great, Sheffield United are playing well at the mo, and maybe Leicester go out with a bang on the last day, who knows, stranger things have happened
Charlton might score 2 goals in a game

Tonight's games are bloody huge, no confidence in us when it is in our own hands (why would there be given the last 6 weeks?) so we really are relying on others. Come on Wrexham.

I bet you weren't stressing when Barnsley had no chance of beating Forest and Brentford in the COVID mini season 🤦🏻‍♂️

Looks like Wrexham have opted for Danny Ward in goal again now after he's recovered from his elbow injury that kept him out for large parts of the season - He kept a clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Stoke on Saturday
Wrexham also beat Oxford 1-0 in the reverse fixture back in October
As a result they're looking to complete the double over the U's for the first time since 2003, yet the two sides have only been in the same Division three times since then; Oxford have won the last two games at the Kassam Stadium between these sides, both in the National League ending 1-0
Oxford have six League wins in total, Wrexham have 11-wins whilst 8-games have ended all square.
Wrexham are looking to win back to back games for the first time February, where they won three on the spin, culminating with their 1-0 victory over the Valley - Oxford will be looking to avoid back to back defeats for the first time since January... All but one of their defeats in 2026 has been followed up with a draw, the sole game they've won in 2026, after tasting defeat, was a 2-1 win over West Brom back in February.

Have to admit I am worried about the Oxford front line of Vini Jr - Haaland - Mbappe
I know they're out of Champions League contention, but allowing them a late surge in the Championship is a bit unfair?
