Aren’t a lot of these changes what many have wanted to see?

JRC for Carey, on paper improves us in possession and drops a player out of form.

TC and Fevrier give us wide outlets on both sides, it’s not a coincidence we played badly without any on Saturday.

Kelman our top scoring striker has come back in.

Sichenje starts, a player who’s seen as potentially a very good signing and better than Burke.

Kaminski back in after Mannion’s error on Saturday.

Bell at wing back is a gamble when we know he generally can’t do the running to play there without getting injured, but he shouldn’t have to bomb forward as Fevrier will be the more attacking wing back and Ipswich will have a lot of the ball. Chambers is on the bench so we still have the option to move or sub Bell off.

Playing Ipswich on a glorious sunny spring night brings back memories of 1998.

Forget the Doncaster or Wycombe games, that Ipswich play- off game was the noisiest I have ever heard the Valley. The roar was absolutely defeaning as the teams came out.

Grateful if those there tonight could recreate the same atmosphere!

Wasn't the roof off the west stand on that night, with the upper tier in the early stages of construction?

They'd have worked out our playing pattern based on our usual starting line up, so NJ throws a spanner in the works... they won't know what's hit them, then wham bring on the first team second half...simple...🙏

I admire your positive spin. Fingers crossed you’re right and we’re celebrating at 90 mins!

Surprising line up, but lets see what happens before we throw any toys out of the pram
They all play for Charlton, so lets not start getting selective about who we back

We might have more success just bringing on Wham! second half instead of some of our players.

Not saying it couldn’t still go horribly wrong! More that sticking with the same team would have been criticised too for all the reasons I mentioned.

Last time Gillesphey started was on a Wednesday night and we won 1-0 @ Middlesbrough... His problem this season has been when he's not had a natural Wing / Full-Back to protect him, so hopefully Bell is partly there to do that.

The players that needed dropping have been dropped so no real complaints from me. Let’s see what Kaminski, Collins, Macca, Cov, JRC, TC and Kelman can offer us that Mannion, Chambers, Carey and Dykes haven’t been lately.

If I recall correctly, I'm sure the roof was off.
  • How on earth does Costello get in - absolutely no pace , no engine and walks around as if he is Zidane - possibly the worse footballer at the club

Yeah Gillepshey etc feels a bit 'concentrating on the Hull game', but then I thought that about the Boro game with Coady, Bought etc so who knows?

If the buses are shite and there are thousands waiting to get here do you think we can get kick off delayed? Maybe to August or September when we might have got some new players or some proper tactics?

At least tonight's right wing back might actually finish a chance.
