You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. He wasn’t great tonight & I’ve not been convinced other than his debut, I’m allowed my opinion like you’re allowed a Palestine flag on your profile picture 👍🏼1 -
I don’t think I have seen a professional player pass the ball so poorly as Sichenje at the end there maybe he was knackered but he couldn’t kick the ball further than 20 yards…I’ll give him a pass for now but he looks like a mistake waiting to happen5

That was so long ago, you don't know what butterfly effect it could have had on otherresults. Its Sheff Wed/Bristol/Preston/Norwich that are the ones that can end up costing us. Its shockingGrovenuts said:That nailed on point at Pompey that we managed to fuck up is looking more and more costly!!

Seven games without a win is pathetic. The second half display tonight was dismal and we ended the game with no real attacking threat.
Embarrassing end to the season...9 -
They might not need to get anything last day. If Middlesbrough don't win Saturday, and Ipswich beat West Brom Saturday and then their game in hand against Southampton Tuesday, then Ipswich will be guaranteed 2nd and Millwall guaranteed 3rd going into the last day (Ipswich will be too far clear on GD and Millwall wouldn't be able to be caught).ForeverAddickted said:IR94 said:If Ipswich win their game in hand and the other, then the last game of the season will be a nothing match for Millwall, as they won't be able to better their goal difference. Millwall will rest their entire first team against Oxford on the last day in that scenario you'd think.
We need to get the point Saturday, otherwise we're in trouble.

EastStand said:Tbf I’m putting a fair bit of this on the ref. Any other ref and we’d have been fine. That man was doing his utmost to ignore every foul against us.Robert Madley who has reffed against us twice this season was sacked as a premiership referee and you can see why. We had two players subbed after injuries in the first half, Bell and TC. He didnt even stop play after TC injury because it would have been a free kick to us on the edge of the box. Yet we ended the half with two injuries and two yellow cards, Ipswich had none. He fell for Macateers diving and the majority of 50:50 challenges went the way of the tractor boys. In the second half Godden was taken out of the game as soonas he came on. You use tractors to turn dirt and ipswich town lived up to the dirt their name implied. Madley was the bent parsnip in the tractor field.0

One thing that did annoy me is that in the first half an hour we were having so much joy sending the ball over the heads of their defenders and making them chase back. They were absolutely diabolical at defending it and the keeper was desperate to rush out and make a hash of a clearance. They were clearly worried about TC's pace but it was Kelman's physical play that was really getting to their centre backs and I have absolutely no idea why we stopped sending the ball into those areas and started lumping onto their heads instead. The best thing about the ball in behind was it also was allowing us to keep our shape, TC and Kelman troubled their defenders and Fevrier, Doc and JRC moved up to support the move. Coventry and Gillesphey should have been just chucking that ball every time they got it but they just unilaterally stopped and our threat went with it15

Those three injuries didn't look good. I'd be pleasantly surprised to see any of them back for Saturday.
Whether we stay up or go down, there is a strong case to change the manager in the close season. The football is so grim.
That being said...well done to Greg Docherty tonight. I've not seen him play better than he did in the first half.12 -
Sorry but good performance by Kaminski? It's not top priority but really we need a far better keeper next season. His distribution is poor, he comes for nothing, doesn't command his box, should have saved the pen.Bailey said:Charlton played well against a side who were in the Premier last season and will return at the end of this season. The injuries to Bell and Campbell changed the nature of the game, once Campbell is off, it allows their full backs to come forward, once Amari Bell is off Gillie is exposed to pace and movement. The first twenty minutes of the second half showed exactly that, we had no out ball and Gillie gets caught out, a flaying arm, penalty and we are chasing the game. Couldn't fault Charlton for effort and there were some very good performances from, Jones, Sichenje, Docherty, Coventry and Kaminski but lose two of our best players and we will certainly struggle, we are exposed at the back and we end up hitting long ball into the box.5 -
The injuries tonight mean we are relying on Oxford dropping a point.7

A number one.... Goalie, or Manager?Cafctekkers said:This was the table after Boro... How on earth are we the only club outside the bottom 3 still with a chance of going down!?

I enjoyed watching us play with two mobile forwards.
So many of these players need to be out the door in the summer. We need far more quality to survive next season.
Please don’t play Macca ever again. Start the dinner lady.
We need a number one.
Please just let us get over the line.

100% this. Millwall will likely make wholesale changes and Oxford will need to win. If we don’t settle it on Saturday then we are in a horrible predicamentBig C said:

Gutted but not surprised like most. Saturday is another chance.... And despite Oxford maybe thinking they've got a chance to survive Sheffield will go there for their last away game with a sell out following and hopefully give it a go... They even scared Boro tonight so it ain't over yet.
Just not sure what team we'll play Saturday... Any lifers fancy a game?5 -
We’re not. Pompey are still in the mix and thanks to their shellacking at Coventry yesterday we could now potentially lose our last two but stay up on difference if Pompey also lose their last two but by no more than one goal difference better than us.Cafctekkers said:This was the table after Boro... The general point that we should not be in this situation still stands though.2 -
Frustrating.
Three injuries on the night doesn't bode well either. Thought TC looked good in the first half and we pressed well. Got the goal that way obviously and from there it was just sit deep and let them have shots from the edge of the area. They did, and they scored on a really cleanly hit strike.
Second half...less good. Campbell going off presumably injured removed out width and out ball, and we sat deeper and deeper. Still weren't terrible except for a moment of madness by Macca. Thought he was okay otherwise, but he'll be remembered for that moment. He's not good enough for the level, and it's unfortunate as we've just lost Bell for presumably the rest of the season. So expect to see him again on Saturday, by hook or by crook.
At the end of the day there wasn't a whole lot in it. We ran out of players with injuries and basically finished with 10 after Godden was hurt. I'm more worried about the injuries than I am the result at the moment. Losing TC, Bell, and Godden for Saturday is a massive blow.
I've said all along it wouldn't be good for our hearts. I stand by it, even if I didn't think it would be quite THIS bad for our hearts.
I still think Oxford drop points against Wednesday and we're safe. But a draw against Hull sure would go be nice. Just shut up shop and go for 0-0 like we did today.

Happy to disagree Large, I had to miss the game because of a recent Heart attack so watched the game on SKY, but he pulls off a a couple of saves that he no right to get to and he just can't down quick enough to the pen as it's hit with power.LargeAddick said:

Stop panicking. I honestly think Sheffield Wednesday will beat Oxford on Saturday. I just don't want to be relegated fingers and toes crossed COYR1

By hook or by crook we have to get this point ourselves. Relying on Millwall to do us a favour will end in absolute disaster.7

I cannot get Mannion’s Howlers, Gillesphey’s Briandead arm pull, or Kaminski’s pathetic excuse of a penalty save out of my mind. If any of those things don’t happen, we probably have at least 1 more point. And that’s all we need
Fine margins, too many stupid personal mistakes5 -
Did you not think that Millwall and Middlesborough and Southampton will want to have pole position when it comes to who and where they play their first game. Those teams need to win, and you need to factor in Ipswich playing two away games at West Brom and Southampton, before their final home game against QPR, once again those teams need to win, or they face losing out. Football is never as straight forward as it looks.Big C said:
