What are you on about ? Pompey are safe. Blackburn are safe. WBA are safe (unless they get a 3 point penalty)Exiled_Addick said:
We’re not. Pompey are still in the mix and thanks to their shellacking at Coventry yesterday we could now potentially lose our last two but stay up on difference if Pompey also lose their last two but by no more than one goal difference better than us.Cafctekkers said:This was the table after Boro... How on earth are we the only club outside the bottom 3 still with a chance of going down!?
The general point that we should not be in this situation still stands though.
The only 2 teams that can get relegated is us & Oxford.1 -
Anyone able to find a bookies offering relegation odds and what we are ? Struggling0

26 points in 30 games since the early season positivity came crashing down v Wrexham.
Our form has been bottom two for months.
I'm not surprised we are still in danger of relegation with 2 games to go...just need one result of 4 to go our way so odds still in our favour but personally I am not comfortable.
Ridiculous penalty to give away and pathetic goalkeeping attempt to keep it out.
If we stay up, massive changes are needed in the summer to turn this form around to something that means we stand a chance if staying up again next season.

A lot of teams are already getting their ducks in a row with transfer targets ahead of the summer window Trouble is, we can't because we don't know for certain that we will be in the Championship. We should gave been done and dusted weeks ago and lining targets up pre window.agim said:A lot still needs to happen for us to go down, we shouldn't be here but we are. Keep the faith and sort this bloody squad out in the summer!1 -
I suppose losing at home by the odd goal to a top 2 side isn't the end of the world. But we're so devoid of attacking ideas it's painful to watch. I'd start Coady for the final 2 games to see us over the line, Dykes and Kelman up top as I doubt Godden going to be fit again for this season5

Majority of Ipswich town fans I encountered at the station were half heads including the everything must go stone island row of all sorts of colours that pushed an older lady over getting on to the train at Charlton who I called out and was silent until blackheath when I got off and then was doing the whole hold me back routine fucking idiot.2

How many more times has Bell got to get injured playing wing back, its pointless playing him there as he can only last 10 mins.16

I blame lots on here throwing a party last week when Pompey beat Leicester.gmantaxi said:Silly fuckers wanting an Ipswich, let’s see what happens at Swansea…..
Could never understand why you'd want a team to go above you, esp as the team they were playing were 8 points behind you.

This Millwall will make wholesale changes thing baffles me. They’ve sold out, they will want momentum going into the playoffs if second place is out of reach. Every single one of their fans would enjoy it if we went down, but they’re not suddenly going to field a bunch of youngsters or tinker with their team to the extent that Oxford can go there and turn them over.Oxford may give them a game, sure. But Millwall 100% play a strong team to ensure finishing as high as possible and going into the playoffs upbeat7

Agreed. Also doesn't make Oxford look like world beaters though. I understand the talk of Millwall playing a weakened side but to go from 1 win in 6 to 2 in 2 isn't easyCroydon said:

Only 13.5/1 on BF exchange now0 -
But if say third place is already nailed on I'm sure they will rest two or three. Plus poor teams can go away and win at better teams, it happens a lot you know. Not long ago a poor Pompey team went there and won 3-1. Not saying it will happen but it's not beyond the realms of possibility.cabbles said:This Millwall will make wholesale changes thing baffles me. We were 150/1 briefly at one point (think it was after Boro or Oxford). Thankfully I stuck a tenner on it. Wish I'd gone bigger now!1 -
Ah yeah completely agree. I genuinely think we're safe because I just don't see Oxford getting the 6 points needed.fenaddick said:

Just mad we've not made it more comfortable for ourselves with the fixtures we've had2 -
Or is that we are just not good enough, which many of us have been pointing out for most of the season.DamoNorthStand said:ns9 said:
100% this. Millwall will likely make wholesale changes and Oxford will need to win. If we don’t settle it on Saturday then we are in a horrible predicamentBig C said:
They might not need to get anything last day. If Middlesbrough don't win Saturday, and Ipswich beat West Brom Saturday and then their game in hand against Southampton Tuesday, then Ipswich will be guaranteed 2nd and Millwall guaranteed 3rd going into the last day (Ipswich will be too far clear on GD and Millwall wouldn't be able to be caught).ForeverAddickted said:IR94 said:If Ipswich win their game in hand and the other, then the last game of the season will be a nothing match for Millwall, as they won't be able to better their goal difference. We are in trouble.Millwall are only three points ahead of Southampton and Middlesbrough, both of whom have better Goal DifferenceThey're going to want to beat Leicester, and then get a result against Oxford to surely cement 3rd at the very least?
Millwall will rest their entire first team against Oxford on the last day in that scenario you'd think.
We need to get the point Saturday, otherwise we're in trouble. This really sums up where my minds been for weeks. It feels like we have been sleepwalking into this situation with the players on the beach post Boro.
It just feels like the whole club was in safe mode whilst the others around us were fighting.
And we haven’t been able to readjust to a relegation battle2 -
I thought we huffed and gave it a good go tonight, was surprised by the strength of comments on first few pages from those not at the ground.
Does feel like absolutely nothing goes for us while everything conspires against us. The number of injuries we got tonight to put further weight on a squad that is largely cooked is now a massive concern. Particularly with a day less recovery.Really don’t like it when fans turn on players. This is largely an honest but limited group playing in a limited way. There’s no piss takers here, even if they are falling short.Saturday is huge.37 -

Lame looking attendance as well…I know midweek games are tough but would expect fans to show up for a big game…let’s hope they show up and support the team Saturday3

everyone else taking care of themselves... west brom fought their way out pompey fought their way out bburn fought their way out
us lying in the gutter hoping an ambulance turns up before we stop breathing

I like that every one is talking form now, I did that a couple of weeks back and got dismissed by many , implying it did not matter, I even looked at other teams current form and showed it was better than ours and that included Wednesday.Croydon said:

Apart from not being good enough we are also not athletic enough….apart from 1 or 2 players ie Ramsay and TC we have no pace…especially in midfield…other teams look way fitter than us1
-
EFL need to pull the trigger on WBA points deduction….totally unfair to the other teams in the league8

Agreed, we should replace him with the guy who got us to 48 points with 8 games to go. Oh wait..golfaddick said:

For the love of god, we do not want Millwall to have nothing to play for in terms of position on the last day, because I see Oxford beating Sheff Wednesday.
Talk about recency bias. He hasn't f*cked up an easy position someone handed him. He got us in a commanding position and now we're struggling - imo, far more about the players bottling it than him, but either way he needs to be assessed on his work overall, not the last few games. Taking your approach is how clubs cycle through double digit managers in a few years10 -
As I've been saying for more than a month - as the remaining matches reduced from 9 to 8 to 7 etc - safety cannot be assumed, those final points need to be earned.
I think the penny has finally dropped with NJ and the players - they know we're not over the line, and stepped up tonight. Good team performance, big effort from the players, some good individual performances - but it's too little too late. A decent performance against Ipswich is still likely to end in a defeat. Yes we ran out of steam, injuries didn't help, Ipswich were comfortable in the end. But what's galling is the performance we put out tonight has been in our locker all along - where was it at Sheff Wed, a much more winnable match.
Fail to get a point against Hull and we're inviting Oxford to stay up. Massive game on Saturday.8 -
