I meant that they won't catch West BromLargeAddick said:
We lose both 1-0, Oxford win both 1-0 and that’s a swing of four. They’d go above us in that scenario.CaptainRobbo said:And then there was 3
Charlton
WBA
Oxford
Scratch that, Oxford won't catch up the goal difference0 -
If we kept a clean sheet against Ipswich there wouldn't have been a problem.golfaddick said:And they could have been below us if WE JUST SCORED MORE THAN A SINGLE GOAL EVERY GAME.
But I keep get being told its clean sheets you should worry about, not goals scored.
And guess what.....they have conceded more than us this season.5 -
Only way this gets remotely interesting is if Oxford beat Sheffield Wednesday by 2 and West Brom lose to Ipswich by 2.
then even if that happens you need one of the most inform teams to lost to a side with 1 win in 41 and Oxford to beat Millwall 2-0 away0 -
I fear a clean sheet and trying to get a 0-0 is the best we can hope forO-Randy-Hunt said:No change then 🤷♂️ us and Oxford aren't going to start banging in a load of goals and can't see west brom getting thumped either.0 -
Why does it take 6 seasons for Sheffield Weds to get a points deduction and W Brom seem to get one overnight?
We would have stayed up under Bowyer if EFL had acted at the time? Very arbitrary0 -
2 points is what was expected. A relatively minor infringement, and the fault of the previous owner.1
-
The have Sheff Wed last game so they won’t go down0

Because they’ve improved the rules partly because of the issues with delays beforeKingKinsella said:Why does it take 6 seasons for Sheffield Weds to get a points deduction and W Brom seem to get one overnight?

Am actually quite surprised at the speed this has been dealt with.fenaddick said:

Needed to leave time for an appeal. Obviously that won’t happen before the last game but that’s more palatable than the punishment AND appeal coming after the last gameCaptainRobbo said:

Do you not think there isn't a correlation between us being 4th bottom and being joint 2nd worst goalscorers in the division.
The worst goalscorers are 24th
2nd worst goalscorers are 23rd & 21st.1 -
Had it been 3 points, it would have unrelegated Leicester. That would have been interesting4

Maybe because their goal difference is better than ours?3 -

it's almost like 3 points could be an issue0

3 points doesn't really change anything. The maths for a 5 point and 6 point gap are the same, just GD becomes irrelevantPrincessFiona said:it's almost like 3 points could be an issue1 -
Oxford could overtake West Brom if they'd had 3 points deductedfenaddick said:

They still can, a 6 goal swing between 2 wins and losses is pretty likelyPrincessFiona said:
