Vital last minute winner for Wimbledon today.

Keeps them up. And probably JJ in a job.
Cracking day for me today. Last year I watched two playoff final wins and today both us and the Dons have stayed up.

For what it's worth, I think Jacko would have kept his job even with relegation. It was an injury crisis that dropped AFC Wimbledon down into the relegation battle.

Orient still at risk of a vile relegation

    What teams need:

Peterbourgh: 1 more point (playing Mansfeild: Tuesday*, Doncester: Final Day, both at Home)

Leyton Orient: To win vs Burton Albion at home (not that hard),  Orient can't draw if Exeter win, and would have to beat Burton if they do). If Exeter do not win Orient are safe.

Exeter: To win vs Bradford at Home (and for Orient not to win if they do*).

Rotherham, Port Vale and Northampton are relegated.

*- there is an outside chance they could catch Peterborough, but unlikely due to Peterborough only needing a point from two games.

Since we are looking at the teams in the play-offs (since Lincoln and Cardiff are promoted)
Bolton Wanderers are the only ones confirmed.

Stockport need 1 point out of: Port Vale on Tuesday (H) or Barnsley on the final day (A)

Bradford City need a point out of Exeter (A)

Stevenage who are playing Wigan (H) need to win (or hope Luton pick up a point/ Plymouth don't win)

Luton, who are playing Bolton (A) need a point/ win (and depend on other teams dropping points)

Plymouth need to beat Northampton (A) to stand any chance of getting a playoff spot.

Surely Orient just need to match Exeter’s result to stay up?

Pretty much, but that is considering Exeter need to win no matter what-  that is why I said a win for Orient would secure safety

But you said they need to better Exeter’s result. Not match it. I think that’s the point @se9addick was making.

I know Orient over-relied on loans last season but going from play off final to possible relegation in one season is a ridiculous drop off.
Especially when you consider that they've still got the top scorer in League One
    Nah, that can't be right.

Someone on here keeps telling us that if you concentrate on scoring goals then you will win all before you.

Some pretty average teams in the playoffs. We were 4th with 85 points last season, with Wycombe 5th on 84 and Stockport 3rd with 87. Orient in 6th had 78 points, so would get 3rd this season. And that was with Birmingham getting a ludicrous 111 points.

Whoever wins the playoffs will have a LOT of strengthening to survive next season.

I'm not sure Stevenage should be in the playoffs either:

Saw it on Sky earlier from an angle that was looking along the line and it wasn’t over.

I had assumed the ref had an alert to his watch during the game but turns out goal line technology isn’t in League One.

Glad Stevenage got some luck.. hoping for some more to come.. would be great to have them padding out the relegation places next year.

Wiredu got the winner for Plymouth. What a moment that would have been for him after a tough season,  if Plymouth had made the playoffs.

Scored the first goal of the season albeit against Plymouth, by conceding an own goal, scored the last goal of the season for Plymouth.

Sounded like he'd sell their entire squad pretty much. Still can't make my mind up if he's actually a good manager or if he got carried by 4 really good loan players last season and Ballard this.

Seems harsh of him to say the squad lacked leadership when they have such obvious leaders as Bakinson, Clare, REG and Dylan Levitt though.  🤣

Never really been impressed with him as a Manager, his spells prior to Leyton Orient haven't screamed much success - I still think he did a Shrewsbury / Lincoln from years gone by, and got lucky in the Loan Market. There is nearly always one club that shows up in Play-Offs in League One each season that makes me think: "How the f**k did they get there"

I thought it was brilliant. Here's the link for anyone who hasn't seen it: Wellens Rant

He also talked about how hard it was to recruit in the summer, given they didn't know what division they were going to be in until after the play-off final. They struggled to recruit the right players and characters, and finished one spot above the relegation places in League One.

It's probably underestimated how much we struggled with that too, but NJ managed to keep us in the Championship with a pretty poor team.
