Probably the only player who hasn't bothered to put a post or story on their social media after helping the club he is at securing Championship status.

Par for the course on here. Bree was superb for us, dipped in form when he was playing through injury and people were screaming for Apter to come in for him. Now Bree is looking at Premier League promotion after an FA Cup semi-final and Apter can't get into L1 Bolton's team. Clarke was everyone's favourite player at the start, had two or three poor games and now he's not good enough and shouldn't be signed. Fevrier on the other hand has had 2 pretty good showings and now his thread is full of people calling for him to be signed up. The fickle nature of football fans and the refusal to accept any idea of form is absolutely crazy. Players will go through peaks and dips but fans are only really willing to accept one of those as acceptable when they're both inevitable.Off_it said:
Agree with all of that.PaddyP17 said:Sign him if we can. No doubt in my mind.
Yes, he's making mistakes, but you can attribute that to a combination of lack of sustained match fitness having been out for a while (so he'd tire a bit quicker in an extended run of games, particularly with his all-or-nothing play style); recent niggles that were picked up; and the fact that as a whole, we lack a bit of quality.
Clarke would be great if he was the baseline of player we were putting out next season, rather than someone who - looking at the current squad - HAS to start and whose energy is crucial to how we play.
If we can build with players like him - and if he gets a full, trouble-free pre-season - then that would no doubt represent good business and a hopefully upward trajectory.
It's a bit concerning that some people's expectations seem to be that anything less than prime-era Cafu would be a failure. But I guess that's just the way things are.8 -
When you’re being asked to pay in a wing-back position (with a 3 behind you) you’re often asked to get forward and be more offensive than your defensive ability. Granted, he needs to work on his shooting, but thought he really caused/causes problems for defenders more than anyone we’ve had on the left. His major weakness defensively is pacy wingers who look to cut in or take on a man to which he looks lost, but for me he’s done a very good job in most games.0

I think its a no brainer that we sign him if we can.I like his enthusiasm, work rate and attitude. But he brings proven ability and experience at this level .Those thinking that we could do better are frankly deluded.I'd also take Bree if he became available but I know its unlikely.0

Was poor on Saturday, but overall has been a good signing2

If he does sign, I just hope the guy behind me finally realises his name isn't Barry.10

Many fans appear to have the memory of a goldfish.Oh Eddie Youds... said:You’re only as good as your last game in some people’s minds.
Fevrier is the new Ronaldo at the moment as although he started as nothing special, he finished on a high.
The likes of Clarke & Dykes did the opposite. They were the best thing since sliced bread a month ago but they’re now deemed no longer good enough because they didn’t maintain that form into our last couple of games.3
