Just the three players who played championship football last season and still managed to deservedly beat a playoff chasing champ side 2-1.

Give Jones any sort of quality and he gets us further up this leagu

Needs to move forwards now, both in playing style and quality of attack on offer.

He has massively frustrated me at times this season, but after watching & listening to him on the pitch after the game, he clearly loves the club & wants the same things as we do.

This seasons objective has been achieved.  Hope & expect us to push on next season

It was about Rodwell... but he did go on to say that Rodwell was his right hand man...

Yes, the football has been tough lately but there’s no doubt in my mind he’s a manager worth backing. We’ve had some nomads, some nobodies and some no hopers in charge. But Jones has given us progression year on year, a proper hard working team to support, and has massively out performed his resources. He gets it. This is a club to be proud of. He fully deserves our patience and support.

If anyone has or finds a video of his speech, please could you share a link?

He has achieved exactly what we set out to do, and he has done that with Charlton not spending ANY of the season in the bottom 3. That's a massive achievement.
Nothing but praise and respect for the job he's doing with us. Onwards and upwards. UTA!!

He’s more than earned the right to have another go at it , let’s hope he earns the right again next season.
Now we’re safe and know what division we’re in next season we already have a massive head start on League One’s play off winners !

I remember a lot on here turning their nose up at Alex Neil when Appleton was sacked.
He's miserable. Maybe a good manager, but miserable

I'm seeing many CL members say 100% for Nathan which was so different after the Sheffield Wednesday away match by some of the same posters !

I agree no manager could give more to the cause of CAFC than Nathan Jones and like Burton, Hopkins and Sheen this Welshman from Blaenrhondda, can talk for the Welsh Valley's and our Charlton Valley. A wonderful speech which encapsulates the man; he is bonkers but he our bonkers manager who cares 👏🏻

We won't get pedantic about which adjective goes before achievement but to get another season in the Championship which is where we belong is bloody brilliant. How ironic that the ugly sister of the Championship, Charlton waited until the last home  game of this gruelling campaign to score two beautiful Cinderella goals by Charlie Kelman and on loan Lyndon Fevrier when their keeper was late for the ball !

"Even miracles take a little time"

The relief I felt at the final whistle has turned into euphoria as it sinks in that "No matter how much your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream you wish for will come true".

    This was no fairy story.

Jones seems to be more successful in direct proportion to the amount of time/patience he is shown. He's definitely not (consistently) a quick fix, firefighter type you parachute in for a "new manager bounce'' (although he CAN do that as he showed here.)
You are going to have a few deep troughs to tolerate along the way and it won't always be pretty but give him time and his methods are undeniably effective.

After we lost at Stevenage last season, I was upset with Jones and it felt the players weren't playing for him and he was picking the wrong side. I suggested in a post maybe he had lost the dressing room. I was out of order doing that but at least I learned my lesson. I know a little about football which is a dangerous thing, I don't get Jones but I see what he has done and I am incredibly grateful to him. I'm not going to question him again.

Nothing wrong with questioning him, it’s down to him to prove us wrong if we have doubts, for me I’ve stood firm and been 100% with him, but that’s not to say I’ve wondered what the fuck he’s doing at times, I’ve just felt we’ve had too many changes over the years and the stability is reaping rewards.

Pretty much exactly where I've been all year. The constant churn of managers in the recent past meant that I told myself to stick with a guy who is clearly passionate and wants to win, even if at times it felt like he had no plan b.

I will be 100% behind him next year too, but I think it's fair to expect some evolving of the squad and style of play, especially now as he's basically said that's the plan in his end of season speech. If that doesn't materialise I may start to question what's next a bit more. Until then I'll continue to back him through thick and thin

I completely agree with this. Nathan’s behaviour on the sidelines has often annoyed me, to be honest. Still, I’ve backed him because I didn’t think changing the manager again was the right move and at the time stability felt more important than pushing for promotion from League One at that point.

I never expected him to get us promoted last season after our rough patch. And keeping us up this term with at least 53 points is a really strong achievement in my view. We had some ups but also downs along the way, bumpy ride and never was going to be easy in such a strong league.

I didn’t understand his team selection last Saturday as well, but happy to be proven wrong again like a few times over the past couple of years.

I trust him to keep us up next season as well, although second season in the Champ might even tougher looking at our squad. I do really hope that we can move away a bit from the direct and defensive style we (had to) adopted over the past few months. Yes we got some results but I don't see it as sustainable.

Yes I’m hoping he sticks to his plan to evolve.
