Just because he's signed for Gillingham doesn't mean he is going to live there.
There are plenty of lovely places within a half hour or so drive away.

So Bradford to pay for him to stay up there for one night and he decides Gillingham is the better proposition.  Thats a waste of £25 for Bradford…

pretty sure Jonny just got married - maybe she didn’t like it up there?  Can’t blame her - it’s like an armpit up there
On top of the Yorkshire Dales or shithole Gillingham. Righto.

Offered more money, simple as that. Bradford had a medical and announcement agreed with him. Dick move.
What’s wrong with him taking the better offer? Especially when it’s much closer to home? He’s got to look after himself and his family, not worry that he’ll upset a few people at Bradford. They’ll get over it.

Likewise with the original Bradford comment

Nah he was obviously going to live on Leeds Road above a takeaway 🤣

My mate worked with him at P****e and said exactly the same. Whatever else happened, he gave us a real burst of energy when he came on at Wembley in 2019.

He was at the home leg of the play off semi last year. I was chatting to him on the way down the stairs from the west upper. He is a top bloke. Shame he played for Palace

It's OK, there was a special CL bye-law passed that permitted short spells at Selhurst, this was to accomodate Sir Chris who started out there.

17 years is a hell of a 'short spell'.

I do remember him coning on for Palace against us in the FA Cup and ripped us a new one! Was unplayable that second half.

But Palace are 3,000 years old, 17 years is nothing.

(Desperately trying to dig myself out of a hole)

A player who's always been more popular for his personality than his performances.

No doubt some crazy fools will ask the question about bringing him back, despite the fact he's just been released from a crap League 2 side, based purely on the fact that he won some free kicks for us half a decade ago

He looks to move the ball forward and attack , there’s no place for that sort of intent in our team

With 9 subs is it worth giving Williams and Chuks 6 month pay as you play deals as cover? They know the club and are fan favourites.
Good idea.  Keith Peacock as well...

Sounds like a great deal to me. Sign me up and I'll match Luke Chambers' goals and assists record this season...

    Strange but true:

Jonny Williams spent 17 years with Palace and had 55 first team apps and spent 2 seasons with CAFC and played 60* games. Jonny also had 94 apps for Gillingham over the last 3 seasons.

I can confirm that Jonny Williams is one of the nicest guys around as he speaks to you as if you are a friend on the couple of occasions when I got to chat with him.

    * 60 games to match his 60 minute battery when starting a game.

    Seems a nice bloke.

Still jumped out of a tackle though and posted indirects on social media at Bowyer.

    "Indirects"  :D

Totally forgot about that. Absolute gold!
