No chance. As guilty as they may be you can’t expect Southampton to have gone into the second leg knowing just a one goal margin would be enough to win when they would have needed to win by four and likely change how they would have approached the game. Yeah, the fact the guy apparently had a change of clothes with him (he ran off to a nearby hotel and changed into different clothes to try and avoid detection), suggests he went prepared and this wasn't his first rodeo.fenaddick said:

I also think Boro are playing on this a bit too much. Regardless of the spy, they were the better side across the two legs and if they'd taken their chances they'd be going to Wembley. They absolutely murdered Southampton in the first leg, particularly in the first half when they had 76% possession and 17 shots. Based on that the spy was pretty fucking useless. But ultimately the same thing that cost Boro at home to us, Portsmouth, Millwall and Bristol City in their last few home games was their problem, they couldn't convert chances. They had over 75 shots in those 4 games and got 1 point.
I'm not defending what Southampton did by any means, as i think it's absolutely pathetic of them, but i honestly don't think it had any bearing on the result.
I agree with Chris on what are you going to learn new other than was Hackney fit to play and was he taking part in the 'shape' at the training ground. Possibly a new free kick but after a 46 game campaign that seems unlikely.
Q. Does the 'Spy' work for Southampton?
Q. Is he a freelance that has done any work for the Saints ?
Q. Why was the Spy so poor at spying ?
Q. If there is to be "No whitewash at the White house" then what are the EFL going to do ?
It was totally pointless at Watergate when the democrats were weak and this is bordering on the paranoid if there was collusion between Southampton and 'Johnny English'!

'Spying' isn't cheating lol ffs, there should be no regulations about it, clubs should just be careful who they admit to training, and if they see a drone hovering nearby they should be allowed to shoot it down6

I’m not sure giving another medium sized club the riches of parachute payments will be any good for us in the medium term. Both Middlesbrough and Hull away are much longer and much more expensive journeys than Southampton away so it clearly stands to reason that Southampton are guilty of all charges, whatever they are, and should forfeit their play off final place to Middlesbrough. #bangtorightsValley11 said:

Talk of the perpetrator's of the filming "doing it all off their own back" and not with the clubs being aware or agreeable is preposterous, sure as eggs are eggs, if they had been successful in their actions the club would have benefited from it, they're complicit and to blame 100%...0

Rule 127 did not exist when Leeds were caught. As the Leeds born hardman has 17 goals in 37 apps in the 25/26 season there is more chance that Ronnie Moore sings the praises of TC than McBurnie coming to CAFC.

I'm not telling tales but many a tea lady at training grounds up and down the country have supplemented their wages by passing on information about new free kicks or who is or isn't fit to the opposition the day before a game.
It was called Tea-bagging back in the day and this isn't bollocks 🙄
