  • Desperate for Hearts to win,

I have vaguely followed them since 1997... before i supported Charlton (scandalous).

I used to live in Edinburgh and it was the closest club to where i lived and worked in a hotel. There was a real character who worked in the hotel kitchen as a 'dish pig'.

He was rough as guts and not much going for him. He was always asking me ... "Ur ye bein a wide-o cunt wi me?" (I was).

He as a lovely guy and i distinctly remember him saying in 1997 with a desperately resigned voice.

"Herts ur nae gonnae win anyhin in mah lifetime!"

If they win, I sincerely hope he is alive to see it.
Could be  a scene out of an Irvine Welsh novel that.

  • This reminds me of the ball over the line controversy a few world cups ago where it looked fully over the line but then when reviewed and taking the curve into account was clearly in.

From the stills it looks undeniable handball but when viewed in motion and the power generated on the ball upon contact it's clearly his head.

And I say that as a Celtic fan with a soft spot for Hibs.  Never a pen and reckon the ref probably realises in cold light of day he's called it wrong.

Watch the handball in realtime and its never a penalty and IMHO it's not a cler and obvious error by the ref, which means VAR has rereffed the match.

Meanwhile, Rohl becomes first manager to lose 4 in a row since 1983 and drops Tavernier from the squad on what would have been his final performance at Ibrox.
I bet Tavernier was disappointed at not playing.

Most important league game played in Scotland for over 60 years today. It's vital that Hearts win (I fear that they won't however) and break the 'Auld Firm' monopoly in order that the rest of the world takes the Scottish game seriously.
(And don't mention the Spanish or French leagues who have the same problem of just a 1 or 2 horse race)

Looking forward to this.  I suspect anyone not a Celtic fan is rooting for the little guy, right?

I think the Portuguese is the worst. Other than Boavista & Belenenses winning single titles each, only 3 clubs have won it and it:s been going since 34/35.

Handball from point blank range. His arm is definitely away from the body but I don’t know how he can do much else there.

You knew they were going to get one, but makes a mockery of the one Hearts should have got vs. Motherwell
Hearts Goalie saw Kaminski dive over the Ipswich pen, and thought: "I'll do that"

Keeper should have got that. Was a poor penalty

That Johnstone for Celtic is an absolute bellend. left his arm/shoulder in twice in that half and got away with both

boots the ball at his arm whilst he slides across from 2 yards. apparently there's no doubt its a penalty kick. If it was outside the box it would be given as a corner.

Are the bookies giving any odds on the referee heading in a last minute winner for Celtic?

No way are Hearts holding out, there are surely going to be about 10mins of injury time
