On the subject of Oxford Poles... What about their (former) number 7 released this week - worth a punt? Not seen him properly just remember him looking quite dangerous in clips. Seen he is injury prone too, so a good fit on that front.
Interesting seeing the comments about Azeez & his lofty valuation, and then seeing that he played alongside Harvey Knibbs in the same Reading team in 23/24 where he got 8 and Knibbs 11 goals.
Azeez went on to score 2 in 34 in his first Championship season with The-Team-That-Couldn't-Beat-Hull-At-Home (he did have some prior Champ experience with Reading) and as we know, Knibbs got 3 in 26 in this season, his first at this level. Could this be a big season in store for Knibbs?Granted, he is a bit older, and there's obviously more to the game than goals, but an interesting pattern (in my opinion anyway!)4 -
He's a very good player but i'd say it's his lack of physicality / pace etc - yes he's aggressive, has lots of nouse, knows where the net is and is good at set pieces but i think he lacks what we need to move us up a gear and that is some rangey, pass and move fluid players who can carry the ball around the pitch - that isn't his game but is what i think we'll be looking to add across the midfield spotsAberystwythAddick said:

I would have thought Anderson will be off anyway. If we have genuine aspirations of mid table next season, then unfortunately hes one of the players who need not be in our squad.thenewbie said:

He's an oddly priced player now. in 2022 Blackpool triggered his release when they were in the Championship and he was all set to go until Oxford basically torpedoed their wage structure to keep him. There was talk that that contract was somewhere in the region of £20,000 a week at the time and he's signed an extension since then. It was worth it to Oxford but now you've got a 30 year old who has two seasons of Championship football in his career, one of them ending in relegation. He's only really a realistic target for a team at the bottom end of the Championship but he would be substantially more expensive to pay than a younger player who may have a higher ceiling. Considering how upset people seem to get on a daily basis that we reportedly pay Kaminski around £20k and he actually had a season's Premier League football and 4 in the Championship as well as a Belgium cap when we signed him I don't expect we'd enjoy spending that on Brannagan much more than other teams around us would. I don't think he's been a realistic fee signing for teams since he signed that first bumper contract in 2022AberystwythAddick said:

Thankfully already have the 3rd lowest wage bill, and we have 29 players under contract so a lot of room to move people on and free up even more funds. So to clarify, is that now Jack Currie, Michal Helik, Przemyslaw Placheta, Stan Mills, Cameron, Brannagan WIll Lankshear and Brian De Keersmaecker people have recommended me sign from Oxford's team? Hope we've got a yellow away kit next year!3
