These days Italy would struggle to make an appearance in a World Cup finals they were hosting.

I think the third highest UEFA country were Ukraine, who were ranked 30 last week. Still all 3 higher than all but one of the rest of the world on this list. And there are several other UEFA countries ranked higher than Cameroon, so higher than all but one of the non-UEFA.

Ok, what’s the least appealing game considering kick
    off times.

I am going Uzbekistan Colombia at 03:00

    Austria v Jordan, 5am.

So many games that have zero interest to me, the KO times are irrelevant. Most of the ones I am bothered about are do-able, 12.30 AM KO being the latest, which just means bedtime about the same as that after a good night out...

Had three match balls. THREE! After missing USA 1994 (still gutted), I was really looking forward to this one.

Worst pain since 1993 in Seville, where Denmark couldn't beat a 10-man Spain, after that w@nker Bakero committed a clear freekick on Schmeichel, which the blind ref managed to miss and Hierro then headed it home for a 1-0 win.

    First match ball:
At home to Belarus (who we beat 6-0 away). Only managed a 2-2 draw. The manager rested a few players... (that itself is a sackable offence). Belarus scored twice in three minutes halfway through the 2nd half when Denmark decided to have a nap).

    Second match ball:
Then away to Scotland. Conceding within a couple of mins after a McTominay scissorkick in over 8 feets height. Then back in the game at the hour mark and in control. Then getting a player incorrectly sent off (2nd yellow). But VAR can't check for 2nd yellows, only straight reds. They've since changed this rule...great!
Scotland up 2-1 a few mins later. Denmark equalise in the 82nd minute. Scotland scores the winner in the 93rd after a failed Danish clearance.

    Third match ball:
Then off to Prague, where we lose after penalties in a game where we had 77% possession. And the Czech's score a worldie after a couple of mins, just like Scotland did.

Fuck off football, just fuck off!!!
(At least give me three points vs Bristol - pretty please).

I feel your pain . I’m old enough to remember us not qualifying for USA 94 World Cup and it was horrible.
The likes of Denmark and Italy should be in World Cup finals .

Kick off schedule image and spreadsheet, some brutal 5am games

    https://x.com/bencrellin/status/2039283939622175187?s=46&t=ynww82GMl7VKBjthBflU0g
Follow up tweet says England group games are 9pm, 9pm, 10pm.

    If England win the group the knockout matches would be 5pm (R32), 1am (R16), 10pm, 8pm, 8pm

If England finish second in the group the knockout matches would be 12am for R32 followed by four 8pm kickoffs in a row.

That’s brutal for me. Two 3am and a 4am kick off!

Yep, will hurt when Czechia plays their games, especially vs Mexico at one of my favourite stadiums, Azteca.

I have no sympathy.  Both nationalities have won a major tournament in my lifetime. We’re a great football nation who have to sit by and watch others celebrate all the time.

Maybe I’d feel differently if that Danish nurse I met in Hawaii had wanted to go past first base.

I do actually appreciate how lucky I was - Denmark won a major trophy when I was nearly 17, which was old enough to drink and occasionally get past first base.

No way does he leave palmer foden and Trent at home, even if he probably should.

No way he takes Trent, not his kind of player at all. He might take one of Foden or Palmer but neither would be there on merit and MGW is a better pick

I think Palmer does have the ability for England off the bench when a game is tight, so I’d look to get him in somewhere.

    Id take Maguire as well.

Maguire definitely. I think the rest will miss out . I’ve heard that Bellingham’s place in the squad is in doubt .

Out of that list I think J Henderson, Burn and Trafford are guaranteed. I'd be picking Mainoo, Livramento and Gibbs-White from the others
