Hearts:
After the last month when they have had more injuries that an episode of Casualty including the final few matches in which they were playing against 13 😤 not only in their matches but also in the Motherwell/ Celtic match when the VAR might just have well have worn his green scarf.
Even when Shankland scored to put Hearts 1-0 up I text my son to say it will finish 2-1 to the odious Celtic.
Chelsea and Celtic are the two teams I hate despite knowing hate and football should never come together but not being Ai, I succumb to negative adrenaline.
I switched the TV off at 2-1 while Celtic did the breakaway with 3 players and no defenders back for the Jambo's because I knew their masses would run on to the pitch and go ape shit.
Tony Bloom and the Hearts board must keep improving the squad so Celtic can slip into the gutter.1 -
Berwick Rangers, Gillingham as live in the area and used to know some former players and Margate as family used to be involved there.
When younger Leicester as followed the great Len after he left us.1 -
One of the best kits as well.Mametz said:Coventry. Lived there for three years whilst at Warwick University from 1977 to 1980. Saw about 20 matches in that time. They had a quite an exciting team, lan Wallace and Ferguson up leading the attack and captained by Terry Yorath.
I loved the chocolate Talbot away top.2 -
Man City cos they do their best to stop all the other cnuts I hate from winning anything9

A handful really for various reasons.
Sunderland, as I suspect all Charlton fans do.
Leeds and Bradford as my local clubs. Leeds fans especially are football obsessed.West Ham as my close friends support them.
Bournemouth as I used to go and watch them quite a bit when they were in the third and second tier.0 -
Villa. My eldest nephew (more like my little brother) has supported them from the start (his second team being us) as it’s his home team despite a Baggies Dad and Many Yoo mother (our Mums fault 🙄). He’s just arrived in Istanbul and I couldn’t be happier for him.
St Mirren. Old boyfriends family from Paisley, visited on many occasions including the tour of Scotland.
FC Köln. The goat obviously.
Osasuna. Because when we went to the nou camp, that’s who they were playing and they play in red and I love an underdog.
Kilmarnock Women. Because of the online hate for their player Salt, who has come on leaps and bounds.
Ebbsfleet. Used to be my local team.0 -
I thoroughly agree with this sentiment. I could never, ever have a soft spot for any of the game's "giants". Can't really understand anybody who supports a smaller club like us doing so, it just goes against the grain.KBslittlesis said:Villa. Rangers - Adopted them in the 80’s when Souness took all the England players up there, been to Ibrox a few times and a couple of testimonials in England. Was involved in a London based supporter club for a while.
Sunderland - Obvious reasons, lot of time for their fans
Man Utd - First ever kit I owned, bought for me by an uncle randomly one Christmas in the 70’s
Welling - Local and our clear club connections, plus my mate works for them3 -
I am shocked at the love for West Ham on here. Did they not nick Defoe from us and steal Billy Bonds for a small fee. Plus the stadium nonsense and stabbing Curbs in the back.Apart from that……..!11

Crewe Alexandre, when I first got into football they were always bottom or nearly bottom of the old div 3 north, but always got re-elected.Delighted when I got to see them play Spurs in the cup, they lost 13-2 10-1 half time. And of course could not wait to go to Gresty road when we finally met in a league match.2

I'm with you completely. They've been a grubby little club for years, deserve three relegations in a row so the London stadium can be bulldozed and the site used for housing or toxic waste.BaileyHintonTocknell said:I am shocked at the love for West Ham on here. Cambridge, Rochdale, Orient and Sheffield Wednesday - I have friends who support each of those clubs and most of them seem to have suffered even more than us.
I have deep respect for Sunderland supporters - great football people - and always keep an eye out for AFC’s Wimbledon’s results, pertly because of JJ but also because of what they’ve achieved as a fan owned club after being shafted by the imbecilic FA back in 2003.1 -

Another vote for Rochdale. I read a book called Kicking in the Wind a good few years ago, essentially following the club in all departments across a typically disappointing season of struggle. A very good read, a million miles away from the premiership nonsense.

Man Utd ...my hero was Denis Law but as I got older and wiser he was replaced in my affections by Barry Endean and Gordon Riddick

Barnet. Born there. Apparently, when I was about 6 or 7, my old man (also a big Charlton fan) took me to see them play while Jimmy Greaves was playing for them.I don’t remember it, but dad told me Greaves was overweight and pissed but was still the best player on the pitch!
Cheltenham Town My local league side.
Gloucester City My local non league side
Sunderland Playoff respectSchalke 04 Saw them in their old stadium in the snow. Amazing atmosphere. Promoted back to Bundesliga this year. 👍🏼
Atalanta Saw them as a guest of a friend’s dad. He couldn’t speak a word of English. I couldn’t speak any Italian. We had a great time. 😎0 -
Bristol City - an old mate is a fan so been to a fair few games at Ashton Gate over the years.
Everton - my uncle supported them and I always liked the Nev Southall, Greame Sharp, Pat Nevin team. Also produced a TV show with Kevin Ratcliffe at Goodison a few years back and the staff there were great - threw us the keys and said 'crack on'.
Real Betis - lived in Seville for a bit and went to quite a few games. Passionate fans but Sunday 9pm kick offs are strange.

I guess I'm just a glory hunter:
Canvey Island - my favourite non-league club. I grew up there.
Southend United - a lot of my mates support them and I've seen them a lot.
Great Wakering Rovers - my village team.
Leyton Orient - my mum and uncle supported them.
Brighton and Burnley - thought their fans were good when we were suffering under Duchatelet.0 -
I hate Celtic and Rangers. I recall our own Paul Elliot being asked whether the old firm derby was the biggest derby he played in on breakfast TV. He said no because the rivalry is built around bigotry. So I suppose I root for any scottish club that plays against one of those two. Football clubs should not be religious or political. All should be able to support them which is why when we had the political threads we had so many arguments from fellow Charlton fans with differing views but a shared love of the club.2

I have read this book,a must for all supporters who love the not so glamorous side of the game.IdleHans said:Another vote for Rochdale. Arsenal as all my best mates support them so I keep an eye out for them.
Horsham and Crawley as the local sides I keep an eye out for.
Sadly however I'm Charlton til I die. I know I am, I'm sure I am, Cursed.0 -

Dundee. When we were at Selhurst a group of their fans adopted us.
I cannot remember why, but good on em anyway.0 -
AFC Wimbledon for their cup win, first final I remember watching.
then for the mk dons episode, reforming and getting to L1. Their fans are a bit much at times but the way they took on the fight and won….. 👏🏻0 -
Slough Town because I was raised there. Went regularly as a boy in the 60s.Spurs because of early match of the day on tv and wondering at the poaching skills of Jimmy Greaves.0

Have always kept an eye on West Ham since 1976 when my dear old Dad to me to see Frank Lampards Testimonial with a West Ham 11 v Fulham. The West Ham 11 featured our own Hales & Flannagan with Bristol Rovers Bannister & Wharboys.
It was one of the funniest nights in the paddock listening to Hammers fans... They were good natured and to be honest I liked it when we moved there... It certainly felt we were better treated than at Palarse.
Southend is next as my aunt lived there and it was my boyhood holiday destination every year.
Recent times Union Berlin, I love their history and their rise to the Bundesliga.

Swansea. Town as they were when I was at university there. I was privileged to see the last three years of the great Ivor Allchurch’s league career. What a player he was, even at the age of 37!1
-
Sunderland, since the Jim Montgomery cup final.0
-
Woolwich Arsenal. I occasionally used to get a Lewis's coach with a couple of mates from Woolwich to Highbury back in the 60s to see some good football when Charlton were dire.0
-
Kilmarnock. Similar type of family club to Charlton, and it's my home town.1
