As much as it will benefit us , giving Southampton an increased points deduction after the punishment already received is just wrong . What have the fans done to deserve that ? Punish the individual culprits by all means .
Individual culprits representing the club. It’s a club issue and the club should be punished
they should be punished for doing the "binoculars eyes" at other fans alone!
They'll be getting that back in spades next season and some...

    Full investigation.

    Massive points penalty surely incoming.
Crucially an FA investigation which means they can charge individuals. I don’t know if they can impose a sporting sanction on the club or not
Presumably the pace of this investigation will now drop and drag on significantly.

Where would you base yourself to spy on Charlton anyway? In the UoG campus? Up on Avery Hill Park? In Footscray playing fields?

We had a similar thing at Charlton because there is a footpath running through the training ground - we called the police and told them we had a suspected paedo filming boys and as he wouldn’t explain why he had video equipment and a camera they took him in to the police station 😁

Let’s just hope their defence isn’t ‘but we’ve been doing this since Nathan Jones was our manager’. 😆

How is it wrong? The club are punished, same as Sheffield Wednesday, Leicester, West Brom etc

Unless they've shut it - and i very much doubt they have as its a public right of way - there's a path that runs right down the side of the training ground and gives a good view of most of the pitches.

It will be very interesting how the FA investigation plays out.
Eckert has already stated that he was unaware it was against the rules as part of the defence and we all know that ignorance is no defence. This indicates, to me anyway, that he either instigated it, or at the very least was aware and, by inaction, condoned it. That's easy for the FA, and for me is sufficient to warrant a serious sanction - likely a worldwide ban for a set period.
A much bigger issue for Southampton is in relation to how far up the chain it goes. Were the owners, directors and/or senior executives aware? If they were then they would also be guilty of serious misconduct, even if they didn't authorise it. Condoning an act of (gross) misconduct is in of itself (gross) misconduct. If it were the case that senior people were fully aware then there might be hesitation within the club taking action against Eckert for fear of whistleblowing.
No word yet, I believe, from the Independent Football Regulator. Clearly fans have been affected which is of course a big part of their remit. But so is the behaviour of senior people at a football club - either current or prospective. Their Owners, Directors and Senior Executives Regime is (I quote):

The regime sets clear standards for those who own and lead clubs, ensuring they meet the required levels of honesty, integrity, competence and financial soundness. This supports our core aims: protecting club financial health, strengthening the long-term resilience of English football, and safeguarding the heritage of the game.

This debacle is only just beginning - a long way to go still before the dust is allowed to settle.

I'm not saying Southampton cheated when they thrashed Charlton at the Valley 5-1 but apparently both team sheets were handed in by Tonda Eckert  🤷🏻‍♂️
