Another entry from Callum’s summer wishlist: Tomas Bobcek

Top scorer in the Polish league couldn’t save his team from being relegated despite them scoring as many goals as the team who eventually won the league

As soon as "top scorer" and "Polish" appear in close succession  it gives me very uncomfortable flashbacks to Parzyszek, which is probably very unfair of me (especially as Parzyszek has been pretty decent everywhere else) but there we go.
You forget our other Polish striker who was also useless.
Are you talking about Michal Zyro?
  • Very worrying that Apter couldn't even make the bench at Bolton!
Is it attitude? Intransigence/unwinningness to try different things on his part?
Jones had obviously seen enough, as have Bolton.
    Tanto clearly L1 at best.
Add in Ahadme to the list and it starts to get scary?
All 3 not good enough for us.
All 3 on long contracts and good wages.
We will probably be stuck with half their wages even if we can loan them out again.
I realise it was needs must at the end of last season but Nathan Jones' player judgement must be under scrutiny and I hope he will be helped a little more with spending whatever budget we have for next season.
Wages are a key issue for us next year and we have at least three higher earning  players blocking up the pipe before we even start to improve?

Reading the summer window thread in May and complaining that there’s nothing on it is just bizarre. What do you expect?

I don’t imagine those three are on crazy wages and if we can loan them out it’ll take some of their wages off the book although likely not 100%.

Recruitment has been questionable at times but you’ll never get it 100% right. It was much better in Jan so let’s hope it’s improving and that Jones has learnt the values of loans in

    This thread is genuinely diabolical.

It's always bad, but this is right up there. 79 pages of utter bollocks.
    We’ve barely got started mate

I am so ready. What I have learned is that you either get annoyed by all the bullshit or become an active part of creating it, there is no inbetween. Might update my 'is Darren Pratley in the top half of our midfielders in the last 15 years' chart on here just to really get things going

Callum Wilson for a year would be a great signing instead of Dykes … yes salary etc would make is impossible but vast improvement Dykes and Leaburn ( would enable him to have a season away on loan )
Would imagine he will stay with West Ham in the championship.

What is the point of you posting when you argue against yourself in second sentence.

Unless we sort out our midfield, no point in talking about strikers.

At least with Ahadme he’s 2 years into a 4 year deal.  Will cost us to pay up his contract if we go down that route, but coming to an agreement may be easier.

I personally can only see him being loaned out to a league 2 club this season at best.  He’s not good enough for league one.

OMG - there's another one as well as Pawel. What have we done to upset Poland?

Abbott and Zyro, while they were both not great on the pitch, feel almost unbeatable for players at either end of our alphabetical order ranking

Gisappointed is warming his fingers up as we speak. I'm sure he'll say we should resign Lucas Ness as well

Aribo out of contract at Southampton. Will be 30 in a few weeks.
On the way down or a classy addition with experience?

Unfortunately, he will be asking for a wage we cannot afford I’d imagine

Absolutely loved him when we had him.
But now he looks like he's carrying a bit of extra timber and has lost a bit of pace.
Whenever I have seen him play on Sky this season he has failed to impress.

That’s the problem with ex high profile players, when they reach a slide and are on the way down, they don’t want to accept pay will be relative.
He was good but not sure now,,,

I always hate these worst player debates.

I agree noone who played for us the Premier League should be mentioned.

In terms of Leon Best and Michal Zyro both were very injury prone when joining us and were better than L1 had they been fit. Iirc Zyro netted a couple of times for us including a tidy finish against Plymouth.
