Caught up with the 3rd episode of Half Man. Bloody hell, it’s a tough watch. Brilliant script and the acting is top drawer
    Just watched episode 3.
Best programme on TV if you’re not faint hearted. Gripping.
Just watched episode 5. It really is a disturbing watch - the relationship between the two main characters is completely f***ed.

Interesting to see how the last part resolves things.

Enjoyed the most recent series of Race across the World. All the competitors were likeable and we ended up with very worthy winners. Won’t say who in case people haven’t caught up with the result yet.

I had the opposite impression this time around.

None / few of the locations inspired in the same way others have before and too many (it felt) long car / taxi rides with little adventure.

That said still enjoyed it and as said all competitors likeable.

The only thing was, did the in-laws get it on?

Binge watching Two Weeks In August at the moment. It’s ok but hoping it’ll get better as it goes along.

Loved this series of RATW due to a great selection of couples, and made up for the pair that won.

Agree though, the route wasn’t such a good watch this series, particularly the 2nd half.

Agree about the 2nd half of the route, but loved the way the people were so friendly, hospitable and helpful.

Finished the final season of The Boys.
The weakest of the 5 seasons which was no real surprise as there was nowhere really to go plot wise. Great cast but poor script

Good series - the route was a nice change from some variation on the far east, and I felt they dialled back the sob stories.

Helped that all the couples were pretty likeable too.

I saw it as a play at the national, it was very good, I wondered how (or if it could) it would translate to the small screen. Just watched episode one which I thought was very good and honoured the original play very well.

If you like 70's music then Ponies on Sky is a good watch. Spy stuff which shouldn't work but actually does. Emilia Clarke from GOT is very good.

Really enjoyed RATW. Usually there is at least one couple you don’t like but they were all likeable this time round. Pleased for the team that won, thought they deserved it. Thought it was interesting some of the home stays, not only did they show the contestants such hospitality I was surprised at the quality of the homes in countries where I wouldn’t have expected it but maybe that says more of my ignorance than anything else.

Saw the first episode earlier & thought it quite good. Not sure about all the army training bollox but thought the players reciting their "number" before the penalty shoot-out was good. Not sure if that was true or not though.

We binged all 8 episodes in 2 nights !

    REALLY loved it !

Different, not scary but some suspenseful moments with very good characters portrayed by good actors.

Probably not everyone's cuppa but easy watching & held our attention .

    Well done the Duffers !

Watched the first episode just now. Really enjoyed it. Joseph Fiennes as Southgate, that is a performance. They portray Greg Clarke and Greg Dyke at the FA as a right pair of dickheads, which I enjoyed too. It was a bit heavy on the emotional drama , but if you're a footie fan I don't know how you can resist buying into it.

Watched the first episode too now - agree it's decent.

Very surface level etc when I think Southgate, Dan Ashworth and others actually went into a lot of depth with a lot of the environment about rhe team, but appreciate it was squeezed into an hour so had to be!

The guys playing Pickford and Maguire are good lookalikes!

Does Southgate have that wonky a gob? I find it annoying that Fiennes plays him almost like he has some sort of facial tic. Not sure I've seen that in GS.

Agree that earlier seasons were better scripts, but still enjoyed it. Weirdly, Butcher’s “cockney” accent bothered me less this season.
One positive I will say about this season:

At least they actually wrapped up the story pretty well rather than either a) continuing to have cliffhangers into infinity or b) spoil it by rushing to a conclusion like GOT.

    😎

Apparently there is a spin off focusing on Soldier Boy coming.

Vought Rising, trailer is already out. Looks to have a much bigger budget than S5 of The Boys

I'll give it a go, wasn't expecting much from Gen V but it was really good even though it was ultimately pointless

The Boroughs on Netflix is worth your time. A bit of a stranger things vibe, think there is a crossover with the producers of each show.

I'm enjoying it. The characters are irritating but it's well observed.
