Hoping Palace can restore some South London pride tonight after Millwall's capitulation in the play offs. They look the better team so far from the few glimpses of the game I've had.
    WTF?…..Are you having a wind-up fella.😡

In all the years we were in the Premier League and a European spot seemed to always go to a team above us or below us courtesy of some strange Uefa nonsense-(or us refusing to qualify 😄😄) I was pretty sure we would get something in 2004, then there was some fair play spot up for grabs and we missed out because Sep Blatter farted so that place went to Fulham instead, another grating club.
This silly hastily invented euro pot is as important as Chelsea being that champions of the universe thing, another cobbled together load of guff. Couldn't care less to be frank.

Glad the season is over -

We really blew it - and seeing these morons booming as a club stings

we all know the mistakes that were made -

We will ever get back the prem - who knows -

But at least looking at bournemouth, brighton, palace we know that until the Yanks permanently pull up the drawbridge there is always a chance the sun and moon align and it's time again.

I thought Rayo were dreadful. Afer the Palace goal I could only see them going on to score a few more (hitting the woodwork three times in one attack sent me to bed).
    Dark night for us.

This tournament and the Europa League are now just highlighting the disparity between the premier league and the rest of europe outside the likes of PSG, Bayern Munich and the Madrids.

9 English teams in Europe next season is a joke as well. How can you have almost half of a league qualify

Palace have a turnover nearly 4 times the Spanish team all due to TV. In that context it is no surprise the bookies had them as heavy favourites for every match they played including the final. There is a huge chasm between us and Palace, £196m v £11m in terms of income for last season. They would have to do a West Ham in terms of recruitment for us to even be in the same league as them again.

Yep. Not only does the EPL have more income than the Liga but it's much more evenly distributed. This weeks' Economist pointed out that Sunderland spent 200m euros last season. The three teams promoted to the Liga last season (Elche, Oviedo, Levante) spend 17m between them.

Went to get a coffee from the local café I do most mornings. The owner was in a Palace shirt... turned and walked away...

I'm convinced a Charlton fan did a deal with the devil the day we relegated them. It's been downhill pretty much ever since.

Annoyingly, still in Europe and more likely to win that one.
Called it back in August - this was the worst of bith worlds, not being chucked out of Europe completely and now in a cup they were basically favourites for.

It’s sickening. All the talk about it being a tinpot cup is crap, we’d be creaming ourselves if we won it.

They’re simply miles ahead of us now (although they’ll always be a bunch of pricks).
THIS - the only thing I envy about them is some of the European away days the fans have had, I'd f**king love a bit of that for us, wouldn't really care who we played

One FA Cup, one Community Shield and one European trophy (whose name I have already forgotten).  That's a pretty good stash of trophies for any club, no matter how horrible they are.

(Although in their case, it's only one cup every hundred years or so).

I've concluded Palace winning this tournament has only further devalued it.
Hopefully it will be abolished in the next UEFA shake up and then it won’t count anymore.

Danny Baker embarrassed himself with a few Tweets demeaning the achievement last night I see.

He’d probably been on the sauce again.

Anyone downplaying the achievement is just jealousy (I know I am very jealous). It's obviously not a top tier trophy but anyone outside of about 5 teams in England (Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool) would gladly win it.

Think I'd have placed a large order of all the most expensive drinks & when he'd finished preparing them, that's when I would have walked away.

Ok they won a poxy trophy, but they aren't 4 time playoff champions.

They can win as many trophies as they like they will still be a bunch of wankpufins.
Charlton are and always will have more class than them.

The Charity Shield doesn't count as a trophy.

I'm sure the Spanners' forum is full of posts offering the speccy twats hearty congratulations.
And plenty of blue noses were in attendance for Villa's open top bus parade.
Seriously think the heat is getting to a few people on here, affecting their noggin.

I saw one of them on Facebook. Made me smile, nothing wrong with being on the sauce. Plenty wrong with being a Millwall fan.

Now if they had won a trophy...
