Sounds like that game at The Valley was very very much an outlier and they're desperate for a new No1Crispywood said:
Guaranteed you have seem him play once which was at the valley and not watched him in his other 20 odd games or looked at QPR’s fans opinions of himMrBurns said:
If they get him we should try and sign Joe Walsh from QPRBraziliance said:https://x.com/i/status/2061008728367747225
Would love us to be interested as well. Immediate upgrade.

Couldn’t agree with this anymore, he is seen as a total joke by qpr fans. people need to start forming an opinion on a player in more than just one game.Crispywood said:

Because he had one good game against us? Walsh struggled to hold down the number one spot at QPR, made a lot of mistakes and isn't all that well thought of by QPR fans. He also only kept 4 clean sheets in 23 appearances and conceded 42 goals, which is insanely high. Kaminski conceded 49 in 37 with 11 clean sheets and for all his faults he never conceded 7 in one game. There's a reason QPR are looking to replace him. Just because a player did well when we were watching and has family that support Charlton doesn't make him a good signing. there's nothing Walsh would bring that we don't already have in Kaminski, Walsh is even regularly criticised by fans for his failure to deal with high balls and the amount he punches instead of catching.MrBurns said:

I think Joe Walsh is a Charlton supporter, but, QPR fans don’t rate him, I’ve seen their games on Sky and don’t think he’s better then what we have1

Yeah top league one players are out of our price range so we are going for middling League one players who may fit our systemRonnieMoore said:
Possibly but NJ said we are not buying top league one players and Bolton were league one ??CharltonKerry said:

He'd be on a rocky mountain high if we signed him0 -

Last season preseason started 8 days (4th July) before our opening game against Dartford so you would assume similar time to thatRedJohn said:When are the boys back at Sparrows Lane for Pre Season?1 -
We were involved in the play-offs until late May and at least four were subsequently involved in international matches. We will be better rested and prepared this year.Crispywood said:

Off-season allows players to stay fit by doing long runs (aerobic) as opposed to intense sprints of football training (anaerobic).
Fitness through the season is more reliant on the former than the latter, allowing oxygen to be better absorbed into the bloodstream.0 -

Fixture release is the next big event.
I have heard first fixture is West Bromwich Albion away.
First home fixture is Lincoln City.
Boxing Day home to Southampton.
Final fixture Derby County at home.
….not really, but if one of those is right I will be pleased.8 -

Why does an innocuous post about our problems caused by play-offs, immediately attract a couple of sarky replies?4 -

Out of interest, in previous seasons when do clubs start to announce signings typically. Early June? Is the window actually open yet?0

Sonny Carey was 6th June last year but that felt very very early. Our second signing was Kaminski on 1st JulyAthletico Charlton said:Out of interest, in previous seasons when do clubs start to announce signings typically. Early June? Is the window actually open yet?4 -
You don't stop doing anaerobic work just because it's the off season. Otherwise you're reducing your ability to operate when deprived of oxygen.Gisappointed said:

Footballers need to train throughout the year both in season and off season, with aerobic, anaerobic, and resistance work. This keeps their cardiovascular system, bones, ligaments, tendons and of course muscles strong.
Failing to maintain any of these will see a higher chance of injury as well as a lack of effectiveness - something no player wants to risk introducing to their game.

This has to be explained every summer, the players have targets and programmes, they are sent home with a smart watch and other connect kit to monitor their workload, weight, heart rates, etc, and there is no surprises on the first day back, the medical team will know what players states are when they returnDazzler21 said:
