    Be careful what you wish for. 

    If we (in the future) find ourselves the wrong side of FFP (or its new iteration) I’m sure we’d be pleading leniency. Likewise the now apparent indiscretions of TS we arguably financially benefited from. 

    Feels to me the penalty for Southampton  was swift and about right.

    I think most fans do not have a problem with the penalty, more of a case what the club are saying/doing afterwards.

    Plenty of Southampton fans are railing against the injustice of it all on Saintsweb, and are pleased with the latest stuff from owner and manager, relishing next season as an us against the world siege mentality motivational thing.
    I believe their mistake is thinking that everybody will be looking at them with hatred, I think it is more accurate to say the rest of the football world will be regarding them with contempt, not hatred.

    That manager needs to blink more , he could stare Clint Eastward down.

    I wonder how far along the FA investigation is. If it’s decided that bans are put in place for individuals, especially the manager, you’d think that would happen in the next month or so, especially if they need to inform Southampton to find a new manager.

    No need to prioritise giving Southampton notice of a decision to ban Eckert. If there’s a need to find a new manager, that’s Southamptons problem. No doubt they’ll appeal again anyway.

    The local paper down there are saying Southampton jumped the gun and it was meant to be announced tomorrow

    Extremely low class response from Southampton, not really owning it at all, kind of saying  yeah the FA are entitled to their opinion but we didn't do anything wrong. Maybe they should look for some Argentinian players for the side too. Shrug.

    I think they have been classless up to now, but I'm not sure what they would be expected to say in this instance? Their statement acknowledges the action, states that they will co-operate, gives fans comfort that outside of that process it's business as usual, and recognises that they can't say more because it's an ongoing process. I'm not sure what's "low class" about it. I actually think this is perhaps the first time in this saga they have had some decent PR guidance.

    Southampton Football Club and First Team Head Coach Tonda Eckert acknowledge today’s charges from The FA relating to a breach of Rule E3.1.

    Tonda and the club will continue to cooperate fully and openly with The FA.Our focus remains on preparations for the 2026/27 Championship season. The club remains fully supportive of Tonda and his staff as we work towards our ambition of returning to the Premier League.We are unable to comment further while the process remains ongoing, but we will provide an update to supporters as soon as we are in a position to do so.

    I mean their handling of the whole incident, this statement is very PR correct, I've a hunch their final statement and actions will be more of the same.

    Stupid that it's taken this long to charge him.

    They've had two months to sort this out and they wait until teams are back in pre-season training with the new season not far away.

    Anyone seen the Mourinho documentary on Netflix yet?

    First episode, John Terry talking about them all watching training sessions from other clubs that he didn't know how they got the footage etc.

    Suggests it goes on a fair bit, just Southampton were daft enough to send an idemtifiable intern who wasnt very good at not getting caught!

    Yeah I saw that but this behaviour wasn’t outlawed/banned at this point despite the questionable morality of it.

    True, forgot it was the Bielsa case that prompted a ban.
