Why would he come here if he can get a gig in the top flight of Spain?
Championship wages are probably comparable if not better than the bottom end of La Liga

And if he can come over and show he can adapt to English football then he increases his chances of getting a Premier League gig, where the Benjamins really start to roll in.

As long as that 7 figure sum starts in a 1 or a 2, I think we should go for it

That probably originated from the sussy poster on here at the time.

Tbh wouldn’t be spending 7 figures on a player that has no guarantee is going to start when Edwards is fit. Understand strength in depth but we really need to be using the majority of that budget in that midfield

Always looks decent when I see him play - didn’t realise he’s only 25.

Pains me to say it but if Derby County want him I can’t see us getting a look in. Blackburn just possibly but definitely Derby.

Why we beat Derby to Carey last summer

Agree on Derby, but actually think we're currently a more attractive bet than Blackburn. The mood there is horrendous, they don't have a manager yet, fans can't stand the owners and they seem to be heading in a downward trajectory.

He is worth 7 figures if he is good enough. Plus he wont be on silly money at Dundee Utd so wont break the bank in terms of wages. Let's hope he is more Josh Edwards than Scott Fraser if he does come.

The lad that's missed as many games as he's played since he joined?

What if he's better than Edwards?

7 figures will be the (minimum) going rate for anyone we're looking at if genuine improvement is the aim, even for "squad players". If the team as a whole is going to get better, it won't be done on the cheap.

It’s important we spend well on wing backs too. We don’t want to be playing TC, Bell etc there again, and we hopefully can avoid bringing in free agents part way through the season like we did with Hernandez and Roussillon.

Derby is closer to the National Railway Museum. It’s a good point.

being a step outside the premier league, let alone ‘just forty something games’ away is a huge pull!

I live in Derbyshire..... currently residing in the same place renting that Derby rented out for Patrick Agyemang when he moved to them - you get much more for your buck in Derbyshire than you do in Blackheath or surrounding areas... and it's less traffic, greener and a bigger club and stadium.

However, it's full of Northerners, so he's going to sign for us !

I used to wonder if this actually was a problem for us when we were in League One and often paying players 2-5k a week, the lower end really wouldn’t have gone thatfar in Greenwich compared to a Northern club. I think it becomes less of an issue with higher wages although obviously the point still stands you get much less for your wages here.

Battling it out with Barcelona and Real Madrid. We're so back
SalarySport claims he's earming around £2,700 a week.  The Championship is widely regarded across europe and the money is far superior to many other leagues - plus the exposure and the fact that he is in the shop window for the Premier League.  There are MANY reasons we could appeal to him

Plus Marko Dmitrovic is there so is bound to have put in a good word for us

Great for us but pretty bleak for football overall if a side battling relegation to league one can financially outmuscle Espanyol and Serie A sides

Might as well give up now if we're already battling relegation two months before we even kick a ball 🙄

Was more in the context of last season. Although I do expect the same next, just my expectations. Very happy if I’m proven wrong.
