Pixies at The Royal Albert Hall last night.
    Pretty good 7/10.
Btw for anyone going to RAH there’s a lovely “hidden” bar in the basement.

If there are any real Elvis fans on here, don’t expect tribute acts and karaoke, this is 100% music

Kraftwerk at Brighton Centre last night. A real “bucket list” band I’ve wanted to see.

Saw Samantha Fish and Kingfish Ingram last week - really good show, albeit a bit short. I thought Kingfish might have played a bit longer than just over an hour

Not a gig, but went to The Lightroom at Kings Cross to see the Bowie “footage”.
£25 is a bit pricey, but the viewing lasted 1 hour, stay as long as you want.
    So I watched it twice.
Tbf I could have stayed longer, but thought twice was enough.

Hen Ogledd at the Horse Hospital, Bloomsbury yesterday. Eight hour continuous show (we saw the final four hours) with songs from their latest LP and lots of interesting improvisation. Totally captivating (if you like that sort of thing, which I do). Free to get in too, which was nice.

Played chaperone for my daughter on Friday. Static Dress exclusive album launch gig at The Black Heart in Camden. Only 150 tickets lucked out getting 2 as they usually play venues around the size of the Forum.

Not really my thing and not helped by the temperature in the venue approaching the surface temp of the sun. That being said, the hardcore fans seemed to love it and The Black Heart is another new venue ticked off the list.

Not a gig as such, but I’ve got tickets for the 3 days of State Fayre at Highlands Park, Chelmsford, handy as my sister lives about a ten walk from there.
Looking forward to Kings of Leon, The Lumineers, Kingfishr, Amble, Razorlight & Elvis Costello plus many more that I don’t know.

Shame Neil Young pulled out of this (replaced by Alannis which is a bit of an outlier)

Still a very very good lineup.

Tomorrow I travel to cornwall to watch Wolf Alice at the eden project a band that i have held tickets to twice and not seen live due to family illness the first time and getting the day wrong the second  :|.

Then we travel to New Forest and get a ferry from Lymington to the Isle of Wight festival where i am mainly looking forward to the Cure on Sunday but Ash, Two Door Cinema Club, Wet Leg (saw the local band do their first gia at IOW two/three years ago and they were shit faces and shit), feeder, sex pistols, calvin harris, suzanne vega, last dinner party and the kooks are all on the list and mostly look like they dint clash woth each other.

I am sure Wolf Alice will be superb. I saw them at the O2 at the end of last year and at the Albert Hall more recently. I’m looking forward to seeing them again at Finsbury Park next month. I considered the Eden Project but didn’t book it in the end. Enjoy!
