Helm in a good spell. Gets SNE for his 3rd wicket.

I can't work out if it's really good Middlesex bowling,  or a stodgy pitch, as nobody has been very fluent.

Very poor over rate here. Just 57 overs bowled, 15 minutes after the scheduled tea interval,  and we're still playing.
    Tea 43 minutes late!

Ekansh caught behind, after a scratchy 17. Benjamin has been way more fluid than anyone else today.

Is it me or is this score thus far relatively decent ? The pitch seems like it’s offering bowlers lots even after 80 overs

We'll know once they bat on it. All I would say is that it's always disappointing when your top three all get into their 40s but none of them convert that into hundreds. Hopefully Benjamin will do so once again.

At least we have 2 batting points which is unusual and if these two can keep it going the possibility of more.

Middlesex have bowled well and were able to keep attacking fields all day, so I don't think it was a batting paradise.

But then Benjamin made things look easy.  Until he was caught behind. A shame,  as we slightly had them on the rack.

Stewart bowled for 48. Annoyingly its been quite overcast for the last 40 minutes,  so instead of having to flog themselves under the hot sun at the end of the day, instead the Middlesex bowlers have quite favourable bowling conditions.

334-7 Stewart out for 48. Jug avoidance!

Can the last 3 wickets scrape together 16 for another batting point?

Should get to 400 tomorrow and a 4th batting point.

Unfortunate that hundreds of schoolchildren were here to watch Compton blocking in his nuggety way, and had all left by the time Benjamin and Stewart were hitting it around!

I still can't decide whether the Middlesex bowling was really good,  or whether our batting before Benjamin came to the crease was a bit timid. It certainly didn't look easy out there, but then neither SNE nor DBD are in great form.

Decent score I would think will be coming. Get to 400 will be very good. Great by Benjamin again by the sounds of it and nice to hear Compton back and Dawkins doing a real first class opening pair do...must of thrilled all those school kids...

14 overs to get 44 for another batting point. Tough with just 3 wickets remaining but possible

99100 runs down to deep 3rd in this innings. I was discussing this with someone at the ground yesterday, and the bizarre lack of a 3rd man in modern cricket.

Glances down to the vacant 3rd man were Compton's main scoring shots yesterday!
