I suspect she upset everyone she meant to upset and I’m glad of that5
-
Thought that was a pretty good first half from Iran1
-
You believe she deliberately goes out to upset people? A strange approach to broadcasting. I just find her annoying.fenaddick said:I suspect she upset everyone she meant to upset and I’m glad of that3 -
That was so obviously a (very restrained) response to the abuse she’s been getting for days just for doing her jobSporadicAddick said:

Hard to believe I know but he is getting better. And he might enjoy media work more than academy coachingAndyG said:
I honestly don’t understand why he would even contemplate a media career he has never been able to string a sentence together it’s not like he needs the money. If he wants to stay in football he should start an academy or something to try and keep himself busy and put something back into the sport rather that embarrassing himself and inflicting this shite on viewersfenaddick said:
He signed a big deal with them last summer. They’re going to try to turn him into the lead pundit. He needs more practice but can only get that while being on the TV…fenlandaddick said:Having a moan... why is Wayne Rooney all over the BBC like a rash at the moment ?He is a bit shit, and I've heard he prefers an older woman. Although I don't think that is relevant.I would have thought Jamie Vardy would get some help as he is a few quid short at the moment after recent decisions didn't go his way.Rooney is on a 2 yr deal with the BBC worth £800K, his pay as a player was @ £300K per week. He isn’t naturally at ease on TV& definitely feels out of his depth and bit awkward when he’s sat with more established pundits like Shearer and Richards. Rooney a talented footballer, but the jury’s out on his punditry career !1 -
I dunno, never met her.SporadicAddick said:Does Emma Hayes have any personable redeeming features?
Do you?3 -
They've literally stuck her in a mock up kitchen to whiter in - She's bound to push back a little bit0

And there’s only one reason why. Are any of the male pundits genuinely significantly better than her?DamoNorthStand said:SporadicAddick said:
Probably not to be fair…it might just be me, but her approach to most things just screams “ME”…DamoNorthStand said:SporadicAddick said:Does Emma Hayes have any personable redeeming features?
Personally I thought her saying a word for her Dad who is dead was pretty touching but maybe thats just me
Doing a job where social media has jumped on her over the last few days must be bloody hard. Didnt know whether she would be back with the board - but that took proper guts IMO.

I think you take away the word significantly too. Everyone is moaning about the BBC's poor punditry but as soon as they get served up something better and different they complain. It cannot be a coincidence that the person getting those complaints is a womanThe Red Robin said:

Think the fact that she doesn't mind going toe to toe with Roy Keane and Patrick Viera speaks volumes8

I had no opinion of Emma Hayes before this tournament because I didn’t know enough about her.
Personally, I think Hayes’ insights have been one of the elements that has raised itv above bbc so far this year.
Her explanations have generally been spot on and she often highlights tactical strategies that I hadn’t given much thought to before.
The real shame is how she’s been slaughtered on social media for no other reason than that she’s a woman and her set looks like a kitchen.I genuinely can’t fathom why the bosses at itv thought it would be a good idea to build a set that looks like a kitchen and put a female pundit in there. What did they think would happen? I know some would say all the social media stuff are just stupid jokes, but how dense are the bosses that they didn’t see it coming? So thoughtless and a total lack of foresight of what would obviously happen. She should feel let down.
Also, I liked her dad speech. It was nice.
Edit: Also also, I liked her “She will change the world” T-shirt. ladyromford and I try to instill that spirit in our daughter too.12 -

I think the Iran team has done very well so far this World Cup all things considered, certainly played better than some.3

Iran don’t have a clue how to play against 10

Going from a golden generation to this is painful.

What a result for Iran0

There's still the tantalising chance that Group G ends with everyone on the same points/H2H/GD as every match has been a draw so far2

Belgians are making a complete mess of the easiest group in the competition3

Our family has its own tartan and we used to own most of what is now Edinburgh so, historically, yes, but mainly I think Mexico are even more pony than Scotland.Siv_in_Norfolk said:
