    No shit things have changed, they will change after every game. There are some groups where the team currently bottom can still go through. 

    Not quite sure what the point is of doing an 'as it stands' last 32 when some teams have only played one game.

    It’s not an “as it stands” otherwise I’d have England playing Portugal who are third in Group K. It’s a simulation-based projection based on the results of the remaining group fixtures e.g. England win about ~80% of the time (8000/10000 simulations) against Ghana.

    I could take the fixtures one by one and give you a percentage breakdown for each (eg England v DR Congo 25%, England v Uzbekistan 20%…) if you really wanted but I thought better of that because people like to take the piss. 
    This is how i imagine AI of the near future, providing decent projection based insights, with a good dose of attitude :)

    Our family has its own tartan and we used to own most of what is now Edinburgh so, historically, yes, but mainly I think Mexico are even more pony than Scotland. 
    Our family has its own tartan and still owns a fair chunk of the Highlands, but Scotland beating Mexico at the Azteca is as likely as me winning the 100m at the Olympics in 2028.
    My family still own all of Skye, own a newsagent in Loch Lomond, a car wash in Elgin, and I'm definitely in the running to medal in the 100m

    Looking at the Iraq squad in depth I’m honestly surprised they even qualified. 

    France look very good at the moment, though Norway will be a good test to see how they can hold up defensively.

    Golden boot race is unlike any World Cup I can remember... after two rounds of games...

    Messi 5, Mbappe 4, Haaland 4 (30 minutes to play), Undav 3, David 3, Kane 2 and plays his second game tomorrow.

    Haha, well he certainly has none of his Dads footballing talent. Should have done better for some of Argentina’s goals and today’s.

    Woke up by a tropical thunderstorm going passed my house. Thunder loud enough to make car alarms go off. The temperature is already going up at half 5 in the morning. I turn on the TV and see that in san Francisco, Jordan and Algeria are having a hydration break in temperatures of 14c..

    Algerian player heads the ball deflects off the Jordan player lands in front of the goal scorer who is slightly offside? But tbh I think it's just his arm which is off side.
